well to be honest with you it could happen if you purchase a generic bulb they will only last around 1year to 1.5 years always buy Philips the other problem that you may have could be the ballast board if for any reason it is sending to much voltage to the lamp it will make the lamps burn out much faster If you want to fix this problem I would replace the ballast board ( around $60.00dls - $80.00dls) and also replace the lamp ( $115.00dls - $140.00dls ) this store has the Philips lamp
By looking at the photo of the ballast on eBay, it doesn't appear to match the one that is in my television, but I haven't looked at it lately, but I will check it later this week and see if it perhaps matches. My set actually has a new bulb already in it, so I really won't need other bulbs right now since I don't have any extra money for backup parts. I might be interested in your ballast if our tvs take the same one; but like I said, I'll check later this week when i get back home and I'll let you know if it fits or not. Thanks, -Travis
Do you have the correct remote? That would be my first question. But most sony remotes will change channels and turn set on and off. Do you have the owners manual? If i'm not mistaken, that thing has a memory stick input doesn't it? Try that and let me know what happens. Thank you and good luck. Jay
