Hm, why install server on a laptop? anyway you need to find out what kind of wireless card you have. and when you know that go to the products website and look for the driver. if its intel then go there. or input your exact product model here and I will try to find it.

I have a tecra m2-s730 that displays the boot screen then back light goes out but you can still see image..what could be problem

1) test it to an external source like a tv, or external monitor through the vga ports, svideo ports. If promblem is solved, and everything seems to be going normal, then your screen is history, bad backlighting and needs screen replacement. 2) Bootup screens seems to work fine, ( like it has backlighting and light all work fine and normal) but when it turns over to loading your o/s and it get dark even with a external monitor, then it's a driver issue or your vga chipset is bad and you will need to replace your motherboard, ( in this case it is best to buy a new laptop). 3) Bios error issue, bios has become currupt somehow, you can try loading default value given in the exit tab in your bios menu. Load and save and exit. See if it works, if not your VGA chipset is screw, and motherboard will need to be replaced to fix this issue.

Can't connect to Internet after re-installing Windiws XP

You need a wireless adapter or an ethernet adapter - 1394 is firewire and used for connecting to video cameras and the like NOT for wireless I suspect you will see some yellow ? or ! in device manager - and/or under network adapters goto this site and download the network adapters http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp select your model I have a link here directly to the drivers http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=713840&rpn=PTM20U&modelFilter=M2-S730&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768664 I would suggest as you have re-installed XP - you may want to also download other drivers which may be needed on the laptop

Hi,

This method will hard reset the wireless and network drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Right click "computer" or "my computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device. Then right click on the "fast ethernet NIC" and uninstall that. Reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and network card & install the drivers for them, these will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again making sure you have the wireless radio switched on.

I would also recommend that you back up any data to an external drive and perform a full deep scan with your antivirus software.

Good luck and please post back if you require anymore assistance.

ASPIRE 4720Z LAPTOP WIRELESS LAN DRIVER

You have a choice of 3 different Wireless card on that model of laptop.
Atheros Broadcom or Intel. You can get a driver by searching the specific wireless car as these cards are used in a lot of different manufacturers laptops.

If you can be a little more specific with the card type I can get you the driver you need

Errors

uninstall the drivers for the wireless card then run windows live update the wireless card should be found and the drivers should d-load and then install themselves if that doesn't work try resetting your router or modem for the internet... sometimes certain computers in a house will receive a signal, and you might get the signal as well but the computers are messing around with the wireless... this happens more with belkin routers just restart the router and just run that one computer on the wireless network and it should start working. then you can allow all the other computers back onto the network
