Re: it says i have other webcam programmes open ?
My name is ArmyMason, their could be a program running in the background that you might not know about. If you are using Windows XP, click Ctrl, Alt, Del keys on you keyboard at the same time. This opens a box called the Windows task manager, click on the Processes tab above and see if you have anything related to the camera running in there. If you don't know what each thing is I suggest using Google.com to research what each program goes to. Please do not start closing programs or you may hurt your computer. You might figure out what program is using the camera going this route and if you do you could either uninstall the problem program or remove it from the automatic start up via msconfig.

As you know this are mostly the problem with yahoo messenger... we are using different kind of operating system... All you have to do is reformat/reinstall your operating to run back normal again. Why I give you this tip because even how many times your going to uninstall it, nothing will happen, changing directories on it at not possible to fix it. Only reformat/reinstall the system is necessary. Good luck!
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)
CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly. The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software. If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.
Open MSN Click 'Open Menu' From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup' Set your speakers Click 'Test' - if OK, move on. Set your mic as default Use the slider to set volume and test. Click 'Next' This takes you to the video setup Your webcam should be broadcasting - if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture. Click 'Finish'
Your webcam has to be configured to any chat program that you want to use it in WLM ( MSN) Open WLM Click 'Open Menu' Click 'Tools' Click 'Audio and Video set up' Set your mic as default and test Click 'Next' Set your webcam as default and trim picture quality using 'Settings' Click 'Finish'
yes u shoul reinstall , first u should check in remove programmes in control pannel if u can see that icon over ther then remove it n reinstall it ,......i hope u got something.......thank u................
If you are trying to use live messenger 8 you may have to use the set up utility. Open Messenger, show menu, tools, audio and video set up. Checks webcam, mic and speakers. If it says webcam is being used by another application, check the taskbar. If there is a webcam icon there, right click and close. Hope this helps.
Make sure that the camera is set up in the Windows Live programme or MSN depending on what you or your friend use.
Setting the cam up with the software you get with it is as neccassary as setting it up to use in MSN or Live.
Go to the tools tab and then web cam settings to calibrate the audio and video.
