the issue started when i connected the USB cable to my phone. it hung on me and refused to release. i had to pull the battery out to get it to work and when i did this, i wasnt able to get into the galary. i again pulled the battery out and got back to the settings options and restored the phone to original fact setts. once i did this the phone totally froze on me. i pulled the battery out and restarted the phone. when i did this, i do not get any thing apart from Options, and Go to. the rest of the screen is blank and these two soft keys do not respond. it works fine when i remove the sim card. but gets frozen when i insert the sim.

its the same with all sim cards.

uhh...S40 series does not support the *#7780# code. moreover, that code is to reset the phone to original factory settings. there is a HUGE diff between a fact reset and a format.

do you have the same problem with any sim card? or it is just with your sim card?

  • BareZ BarZNji May 11, 2010

could you please clarify your problem? because such Nokis phones does not allow the use to format the system, however, your problem might be solved with something else. so stating your problem more clearly might help, you and me :-)

How i format my nokia 5130,,,,

The phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation.

to format try this link.

How to format this unit ??

You might have to visit the Nokia service to format and reinstall with the original software.
Why to format? Has the set hung up? or do you want to reset to factory settings, if so open phone setttings and reset on the window ' restore factory settings.'

M using nokia 3500c. i forgot my cell's security code

Power off the phone.
Press and hold Green, * and 3.
Keep them held while Phone is powering on and for a few seconds after that.
It will Format your phone compleatly and bring it back to the Factory Setting.(But the data which is on memory card will not delete)

It will clear all the Codes or Passwords.

I am sure this is going to work.

Formatting

Go to the nearest Authorized Nokia Service Center for they have the latest software for Flashing and updates for your mobile phone. Restoring to factory settings may not guarantee you that you will have your problem solved. They have special cables and appropriate software for this. Especially if it is still within the service warranty, you might get it for free.
