Pop the top cap on the agitator and remove the screw if it is there.

Some have screws some do not.

Then vigorously pull the agitator off.

Grasp under neath the agitator and pull. Place a belt or rope under the agitator and pull up.

Elite model #11027087603. How do I remove tubseal nut on bottom of washer that holds motor rotor on shaft?

that should have an inset, hex-headed screw/bolt. You will have to hold the rotor with one hand and use your other hand to loosen that screw. they use thread lock on that screw, so it will be difficult. but, that's only half the battle. You will have to remove the tub cover, agitator (7/16 agitator nut size), and the spin basket to access the tub seal. the seal has to go on from the inside of the tub assembly. Make sure you don't use anything against the outer lip of where the seal seats inside the tub, or you will have to replace the outer tub because it will still leak. Push the seal all the way down. then before you put everything back together, pour a small amount of water in the tub and see if you see any leaks. anything major will show then, but if there is a small leak, you will not know it till you try to wash with it. You shouldn't have to remove the stator screw or do anything from the bottom side of this unit. You should be able to replace that seal from the top side. good luck.

My Maytag A9700 is leaking from the bottom of the outer tub. I have changed both the tub bearing and the stem seal but it is still leaking - even more than before I started. My question is whether I

If the boot seal was properly seated onto the outer tub lip, then you should focus on the water seal (#39 in the graphic - it should have come with the mounting stem kit) as the source of the leak. Extra care must be used when installing this over the agitator drive shaft - some recommend adding a lubricant (Maytag center seal grease works well) to the shaft before sliding the mounting stem (and water seal) down onto the agitator shaft. Also, check the two sealing surfaces where the top of the boot seal (#40) meets the bottom of the mounting stem (#30). Look for cracks, chips or any bits of debris. Anything that keeps those two surfaces from meeting perfectly will cause a leak. These repairs should go fairly smoothly, but leaking water seals and chipped boot seals can cause problems.

Ge washer mod. wpre8100g0wt leaks out of overflow while agitating

while you have the front panel off look on the left side, you'll see a clear plastic hose, pull the hose off of the tub and cclean out the tube with a plastic tie or a paper clip, also stick it into the hole where it pushes onto the tub, this is from the pressure switch, either the plastic tube is blocked or you could have a bad pressure switch.i've found a number of these washers with the pressure hose caked up with detergent,it will look black in color, hope this helps

I was looking at a 5 year old whirlpool full sized thin twin stack washer/dryer and the complaint was that it was leaking intermittenly. I could never get it to leak while I was there until yesterday when...

well i personally have not heard of this before.did the speed of the agitation change with the level of the water.it makes sense because the blades are larger on the bottom of the agitator.with clothes in the washer this should cut down on the water splashing.

Kenmore 80 series leaking....plastic tub cracked on the bottom

if you removed the large nut (round with four notches cut in it ) then tub should be free. sometimes these "rust together" on the hub. wd40 and a hammer to knock it free. try rocking the basket to break free. you did remove the tub ring(white plastic part on top), right?

GE Top load washer.

Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,

Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.

Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking even with the tub full of water.

Let me know if you found it and how you do.

Maytag top load washer leak

underneath the agitator is a graphite seal ring and nut that seals the inner tub and the outer tub. a suitable spanner wrench or a 6 inch channel lock plier will remove this locknut. replace the seal.
