Possibly but please do the following:

Tirn console off and disconnet power supply for 30 seconds. then reconnect and turn on the console via the button on the front WATCH THE LIGHT CLOSELY - if it JUST turns on then goes off its either a dead powers supply-perfectly feasable bearing how old the thing is. If it blinks then im afraid your console is dead and a replacement will probably be cheaper than repair. New power supplies can be ordered in by GAME or GAMESTATION if not in stock

The on/off switch won't turn on. i have power on (red light) switch clicks but no green light. i have taken lid off and white button seams on work but still no green light. i have even held down little...

This is one of three things. Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine which, unless you start replacing parts.

1. Bad switch. The switch doesn't usually go bad by itself, has the PS2 been dropped? Bumped? Anyone push the switch too hard? It's held in by solder on all 4 corners. If the solder becomes dislodged, the switch can fail.

2. Bad cable. This is rare unless someone opened the PS2 and removed/installed the cable a few times and frayed the internal wires.

3. Bad motherboard. Sometimes a power problem can develop, or the motherboard can short out. It's pretty rare, but I have seen it happen.

4. Bad AC adapter. Recent power surge? It's possible that the AC adapter is delivering enough voltage to power the standby light, but not enough to power the actual system on. You can easily check this by plugged your PS2 up on someone else's AC adapter or taking your AC adapter to someone else's PS2.

My PS2 can play games, but at some time the console would turn off/shutdown automatically with the red light blinking/turning on and off

this is probably an overheat problem. you could remove the heat sync and apply thermal gel to the processor, also check that the case fan runs.

Problems trying to get my ps2 to fully work.

Your power supply is not giving enough power to the unit. Get a new power supply and you will be fine.

Good Luck

Seems like a bad power supply on your unit. You can contact your local servicer for that so they can replace or fix that part.

PS2 No Green Light

Maybe it has something to do with your power supply, try replacing it with a different one.

No power on my ps2

Ok this is a classic bad power supply! There could be 2 solutions to this! 1 a new power supply or a new 50 cent fuse!

If you are willing to tear it apart ... but that is if this is a fat ps2.. If it is let me know and we can get cracking!

Is the it the power supply red light?

The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or is overheated. Therefore, you should let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. During this time, you should not try to turn the console back on to allow the power supply sufficient time to cool. As soon as the power supply has cooled off, the power supply light will change from red to orange, and you can turn the console back on.

If the power supply light is still red after you have let the power supply unit cool in a well-ventilated space, the power supply unit may require replacement.
Also make sure the power msupply is plugged in correctly.

You could also purchase a new power cord.
Good luck

Ps2 slim will not power up

usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.

Ps2 slim's red light wont turn on (wont run games too)

I have the same problem. At first if I wiggled the powere supply cord, and pulled it in one direction, it worked. After a while it wouldn't turn on at all. I ordered another supply cord, but no luck. I opened up the PS2 to see if I could see anything. The male terminal which the power supply plugs into, has three solder joints on the bottom of the terminal. Mine had the main solder joint broke loose. I am going to try resoldering it back on. I will post again if it works. If not will probably just buy another one.
