Question about Acer Aspire 9410-4317 Notebook

5 Answers

My Acer C: drive is full but Data D: drive is not.

Sorry I dont know much about computers so my wording may not b correct etc. The problem is this - I have an Acer Aspire 5715Z with windows Vista. I have had it since about October. When I go in 2 my computer it is saying I have - Acer C: 482MB free of 32.5 GB file system NTFS but data D: 31.1 GB free of 32.2 GB
I tried downloading something and it's said I have no space. Why are things not saving in the other drive 2? and what do I have 2 do 2 fix this?
Thank you

Find a picture on the internet.

Right-Click the picture.

Choose "Save As"

A box will open like this one:

My Acer C: drive is full but Data D: drive is not. - 34f65cf.jpg

click on My Computer and point it to where you want the file to be saved on the C: drive (the one with all the space).

It will remember the path so you only have to do this once.

That's it.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Please don't forget to rate my solution.

Thanks!

You need to backup and clear off some of your C: drive, most likely your machine is running much slower because of it (Windows requires more room for a proper cache).

If you are storing something like music or video files on your C: (such as iTunes) you may want to move those to the D: drive and change the default folder for iTunes to the new location.

Hey, you can move the free space from your D drive to your C drive with AOMEI Partition Assistant. http://www.extend-partition.com/help/allocate-free-space.html

SOURCE: Have tried a solution but there's still a problem

look first make habit of saving ur downloads to Drive D ok never save ur download s on drive Acer : C secondly let me tell u windows Vista is a bulky OS and it needs much space on hard drive thats why atleast 120 Gb is recommended for Vista it seems like u have an 80 gb hard drive Vista will work but it will take much of ur drive space as my Vista installation is around 39 GB now i dont know but it grows his size day by day thats why some ppl with less system resources go back to XP , u can free up more disk space by doing following:

go to http://www.ccleaner.com download ans install it run the cleaner and look for temp files that may be lying and occupying disk space.

2. Go to My Computer Right click on Acer C take properties click button Disk cleanup select files from all users let it scan ur hard drive and then it will present u with some temp files , hibernation files and thumbnail files and error reporting files check the boxes and perform the cleanup select all of them u will get some space press OK it will cleanup and delete these files and u will see some space freed up, in more options in the same windows u can also uninstall some progrmas on ur C drive which u installed and u no longerr want now u can un install them as well after that come out of it

3. Now go to My computer right click and take properties of Acer C now go to Tools Tab and select Defragment Now and select C drive and defrag ur drive this will take time after this correct free space will be visible to u after all cleaning steps

if u get enuff space u wanted then it is ok otherwise u can also take some space from the D drive and can merge into C drive if u want i can help u in that but i prefer changing ur hard drive as it is too small for a system like Vista , XP will give u no trouble on that drive

pls let me know and do rate me if i fixya problem

Acer computer ask for bootable any help?

If your computer is asking for a bootable disk drive on startup, it typically indicates drive failure and your harddrive needs replacement. Sorry for the badnews.

Most likely your windows installation is corrupted. What you would need to do is reload windows from scratch...HOWEVER, you will want to back up your data before then....Just because you can't load Windows, doesn't mean you can't get at your data. You can likely buy a cheap USB Drive adapter, that will allow you to plug your hard drive into a working computer and retrieve your data. This is what a USB drive adapter is: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2329300&CatId=3770

after you back up your data you will have to reload windows. If you dont have a CDRom Drive, you probably have a partition on your hard drive that has the windows restoral on it. You will need to check the owners manual or call the manufacturer's support line to find out how to do that. (OR if you have the Windows CD/DVD, you can possibly use the drive adapter to connect it to your acer. Boot to your Windows DVD or Restore partition, and load per the on screen prompts.

A technician download a microsoft word professional 2010 to my laptop but it is not authenticated and my daughter updated the windows, i cant open my microsoft word even my files on usb

You have to own the software. Without a Product Key, you cannot use it

You can use open office, which is free and does everything Microsoft Office does, but it's free! and fully compatible!

Download it here:

Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser.

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Maybe you need to reinstall your system back the Vista.

But before then, have you tried using other explorers like, opera mini, Mozilla fire fox, Comet Bird etc.?

Try this first.

Take care.

Sounds like the hard drive boot sector is damaged. You can remove the drive and put in into an external casing and via a USB connection get the data off onto another working computer. Then (if my diagnoses is correct) you can get a new hard drive for the laptop and install windows etc again and be mobile again

I have a loptop of Acer Aspire5520.I have to formate now but i lost my system backup & restore disk. How can i get this backup.Pls let me know.

Normally , acer laptops have a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive , which contains all of the recovery data so you dont need the recovery discs.

When you boot up your computer and you get the Acer logo etc , try pressing keys to start the recovery - this puts everything back to factory default settings and erases your data.

Also , A program ships with the laptop called 'Acer Empowering Technology - eRecovery' which allows you to burn your own recovery disc - You then use this disc to perform a complete system restore.
