I tried cutting my tv on which it stayed on for about two minutes then cutt off. I noticed that the "on timer" red indicator was flashing. I tried cutting the tv back on in order to remove the timer set which apparently was set by accident however it does not come back on. I then unplug the tv for a few minutes and then plugged back in which the tv came back on for about 20 seconds then went back off again flashing the "on timer". How can I correct this and to get my tv to come back on? Thank you!

Re: The timer on button flashes
The timer light blinking indicates a failure in the TV set. Either the
vertical circuit or horizontal circuit has failed and needs repair. It
actually has nothing to do with the timer circuit.
In my experience its probably a vertical output chip, smalla capacitor and zener diode. There may also be an open resistor.
Cost to repair in the 50-75 dollar range usually

SYSTEM RESET If the TV will not respond to either the remote control or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off, press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET button may be lost, however, the changes you made previously are not lost. POWER/TIMER Indicator The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on automatically using the Timer feature,
tv wont turn on when i hit power it makes the clicking noise like it is going to turn on, but never does and the red timer light next to the power button just flashes. help! trinitron kv29f1u only clicks and blinks
When cleaning the front of your tv do you spray glass cleaner on the glass? Many time I have seen glass cleaner that has dripped down onto the pc board, contols like power, vol, and channel control are under the tube and there is nothing to protect it from liquid, if it has not eaten the componets from Corsosion there may be a chance that you may be able to clean with flux remover or tuner cleaner. Be very careful when using these cleaners because they can eat plastic.
The light that you see flashing is the timer light. It is flashing because of the lack of red, green or blue. This would explain your color issue. It could e caused by the CRT (picture tube) itself or a bad connection to the CRT or a color driver component failing. Either way you need a technician to locate the issue. If its the CRT and it is out of warranty, most likely it won't be worth the repair.
Yeppers. Sounds like the standby power supply has a bad capacitor in it and the regulator Ic is defective. These parts should only be replaced by quilified technician as there is very high voltage inside these sets. Good Luck
