When typing, curser stops and does not pick up typed words

Curser just dissapears from screen and I don't realize it has stopped until I look at the monitor. I have changed batteries but still have the same problem.. When typing the cursor disappears and typing does not appear on monitor. If I click on screen cursor appears and I can resume typing.

It is very annoying as you have to keep checking the monitor to see if you are still entering letters.

Sometimes when typing the cursor pauses or just disappears. I have to type really slow just to write a sentence. Below I will type as I normally would and you will see what the problem is.

SOURCE: keyboard

Hello ARRG,

It looks like the problem is with the keyboard, and not the mouse. To verify, try the k/b on a different computer. If the issue occurs there as well, it means the k/b is defective and you may have to replace it.

If however, it functions well on the other PC, then it could be a problem with either the port or the driver, or the keyboard itself.

First try the k/b on another free port, if available. If it works OK, then the original port is damaged and you will need to take the PC to a competent technician to get it fixed.

Next, try to download the latest drive for your keyboard and install that after uninstalling the older version. If this does not work as well, consider buying a new keyboard....I always recommend the corded variety, as they are more reliable.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! or Helpful rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!

That means the Antivir corrupted system files that are responsible for the booting process. This is what you need to do...
Boot the computer until it comes to a point where you can only see the cursor. Then press CTRL + ALT + DEL. This will open the TASK MANAGER. In the Task manager, go to FILE and then click on NEW TASK and then type the following EXPLORER.EXE

This will make your desktop icons appear. Once they do appear, go to control panel and uninstall the antvir. Then restart and Install a different antivirus like Kaspersky

Both touchpad and keyboard will be reinstalled and then ready to use again as it should be back to normal

How can I stop my curser from jumping around whilst typing ?

Hello
Most probably because your 'Touch Pad Mouse' is touched by your palm (hand or something) while you are typing. Avoid contact with the mouse touch pad while typing.
Option 2:
If you have a centre moveable mouse on your laptop, start using it and disable the 'Touch pad mouse'
Best of luck!
