Question about Televison & Video
Can't find my Insignia combo TV/DVD on your website. Cannot find a hack to make the Insignia NS-LTDVD19-09 region 0 (region free). Tried the 2 popular sequences listed on websites, 1 - 3 - 8 - 9 and 9 - 3 - 7 - 5 on the "Preferences Page", which used to work on an earlier version of this LCD TV with internal DVD player, but the latest 2009 version of the TV doesn't respond to those older codes. I'm not presented with my current region (1) nor up/down arrows to scroll to zero. Nothing happens after entering 1389 or 9375.For reference, here is the hacking method that works on older models:1) Power up NS-LTDVD19 using its remote control.2) Press [INPUT] button until you get to DVD.3) Eject any DVD.4) Press [SETUP] button twice (you should now be on the -- Preference Page --).5) Enter "1389" or "9375" on your remote control's keypad (this will show your current region).6) Use up and down arrows on remote control to set your region to 0.4) Press [SETUP] button.7) Power down using the NS-LTDVD19 remote control.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had this problem with my TV/VCR combo unit (Samsung CXC1972) after losing the remote while in the dorms. I tried a few different universal remotes and dozens of codes before I tried the Philips 3 device universal remote as pictured below with code 037 programmed into the VCR/DVD button. I can't change the volume with this code but the input key switches between line in and tv. You can also change the channel, access the menu and operate the VCR functions with the code. I bought the remote for less than $10 at Walmart so it might be worth a try, and if it doesn't work you can always bring it back. Hope this helps.

Here are the codes: take a deep breath:
0181, 1283, 0183, 1292, 0087, 0677, 0859, 0872, 1183, 1383, 1683, 1731
You may find that these don't work. Often, with combination pieces like yours, you will find you are lucky if you can get a universal remote to turn it on and change the volume and little more. The fact that Toshiba did not build this peice can compound the problem. My suggestion, if you can't get the universal to program up, is to use the original remote for the set. If you do not have the original remote it is available from www.encompassparts.com for around $15.00 plus shipping. The original part number for the Toshiba remote is 72796929.
