You may want to verify if the computer is the one that do not turn on. Please check if you see the fan on your computer is working and the LED in the mother board is lit.
IF the computer is working and no display on the monitor, despite seeing a green light on the monitor display, this means that monitor is well connected and communicating well with the cpu. Better check the inverter light on the monitor. Replace busted lights. These are responsible for the image you see in your lcd monitor. If the inverter lights are busted then you'll see only black screen.
Without any instruments to check it with, substitution is the best test; in other words connect the monitor to another system for a minute or two and/or a different monitor to your system.
(If you can do either, don't do 'hot' swaps, turn everything off and then back on again.)
If you've noticed it; you may have seen that the LED flashes if the monitor is left on and the system shut down.
Removing the VGA cable from the back of your system (or the monitor if it is separable) should produce the same result; flashing LED.
If this is the case, then your video source from the system (on-board of add-on) has failed.
If the video chipset on the motherboard has failed, it can be disabled and replaced by an add-in board for a few dollars.
Hi , The monitor flicker problem. The monitor when turn on will display image for couple of second then turn black. The monitor status led is still green. This will happen each time it is turn on. The symptom at appear to come from the inverter board.
Check to see if the image is Dimmed. Chances are the power supply on the FPD is either dead or not supplying power to the back lights.
Your problem is the power supply or the inverter on your board, you can replace it and it will be fixed. Easy Fix REALLY EASY FIX (inverter is what supplies power to your backlights. A lot of the times the reason a monitor goes black and the green power button is on, is because the backlights shut off. in most designs of the 1730 the inverter is embedded on the power supply. That is most often the case on this problem. Power supply/Inverter=Replace it and you will have a spanking new looking nice monitor working again. :)
