You didn't mention what OS you're planning on using but if it is Linux according to this page you only have partial wireless support with the Broadcomm adapter in your unit.

Please post which OS you are attempting to configure so that I or one of the other techs here can assist you further...

Hello,

My name is ArmyMason, might I suggest that you do a system restore to take your computer back to a date the computer was working correctly. Click on start, all programs, Accessories, system tools and click on System Restore. Tell it to restore and choose a date on the calendar. If this doesn't resolve the issue run Anti virus to see if your computer is infected. If this doesnt help please consider using our Premium service.

Thanks,
ArmyMason

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I am currently running internet on a NetGear wireless WG111V3 adapter and I am trying to install the NetGear wireless WN111V2. As far as I know I have all of the correct drivers and also updated Windows...

1 Download using the button below to a convenient place such as your desktop.
NOTE: After downloading, DO NOT RUN THE FILE YET. Please proceed to Step 2.

Download Link

2. To properly install adapter software, please remove drivers that were previously installed.
To uninstall, go to Start > Programs > NETGEAR WN111v2 adapter > Uninstall NETGEAR WN111v2 adapter or through ADD/Remove program

3. Unplug the WN111v2 adapter from your computer.

4. Run the file you just downloaded and follow the on-screen install instructions.

How do you turn on the wire less device

you need to update the driver and to do this you need to connect to wired internet and run windows update, including optional updates. the driver that you get from hp's website is useless. once you've run windows update (you need to keep clickong check for updates until it says your computer is up to date) you need to run your laptop for about 5 minutes while it finishes updating the driver. suddenly the orange button next to the power button will turn blue. if it doesn't do it on its own then press it and wait. the button is only supposed to open hp woreless manager but i've had a couple of CQ60s that i needed to press the button to make wireless work and a few that i didn't. if you have broadband you should have a yellow cablr supplied with your router, stick one end in your laptop (it's only fit in one place) and the other end in your router. that will connect you to wired internet

Toshiba portege A600 notebook. wireless

unless you have a wireless router in your home; the msg "windows cannot find any wireless networks"

means any network in your area is too far away, or has a signal so weak your laptop is not picking it up as a viable source.

visit . www.filehippo.com and DL a file called Ccleaner. Run this program - it will clean all your internet caches and junk files, then run the registry cleaner. Reboot.
This can keep you from connecting.

Also try moving to different areas in your home and refreshing your wireless search.

if you are worried your wireless card may not be working properly, take it to a place like mcdonalds, or anywhere that has free wi-fi offered. if you still can not pick up a signal there you have narrowed it down to your wireless adapter.

you can also try this little program. Easy Wi-fi radar found here

HP pavilion dv1000 is not compatable with ATT woreless in the home. The computer if in range will shut down and reboot continually. Works with other wireless systems.

uninstall the software look for updated compatable drivers,or once pc has started go to control panel select administrative tools , services , and scroll down to wzc(windows zero config)
select it and start it.close all box's and now you can use wifi using window based drivers(cos its the devices program(manager)that is incompatable not the actual device and the device is installed but its program disabled.

Compaq presario wireless button no longer working

There is a mechanical problem with the R3000 wireless button and volume-down button where they seem to push fine but are in fact failing to make electrical contact. I know of two work-arounds.
* Try pushing the button with a capped pen, gently at first, and then with increasing pressure. (Not so hard you break the plastic, please!) I suspect this gives the buttons just enough extra "oomph" that contact is established.
OR
* Push up on the battery compartment while pressing the buttons. If the battery is in, you can acheive this same effect by putting your laptop on a table and popping up the screen, then applying downwards pressure on that corner of the laptop body while pushing the button. I suspect this aligns things properly so that the button is able to depress just a hair further.

You may even find that these actions "loosen things up" enough to cause the buttons to work like new for a little while. I hope this works for anyone reading this!

First, go into the user accounts and disable the UAC and make sure that the user account is in the admin group. Then, change the default installation folder from Kaspersky to "/program files/KIS" That should do it.
