My problem is that whenever I try to open Youcam, it stops at the loading sign and goes in an endless loop. I've uninstalled and reinstalled number of times and nothing changed. What's up with that?

You didn't mention which OS you're using but by the specs it should be Vista, this link will take you to the download page for your product. You may want to reinstall the Cyberlink YouCam Software (toward the bottom of the page). Good luck!

You need to install (1) the webcam driver, and (2) the webcam software. If your hp does not provide the webcam software, then you can use manycam.com's webcam software.

HP HDX X16t-1200 web cam not working

Download the webcam driver from HP.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers.

You have to open the webcam software to activate or start the webcam. There is no button to push or switch to turn on. The webcam software is somewhere in the program list. Click Start/Programs then search for any reference to webcam or camera. Sometimes the webcam might be inside one of the manufacturers folders in the program list so search the folders for it. Some manufacturers have something like Entertainment Experience that will open and show all the entertainment devices such as the dvd drive, webcam, media player, etc. if you see it click it to launch it then click on the webcam or camera icon.

Try using ManyCam

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.

My Pavilion dv6700 does not recognize my webcam, why?

Hi,

This is normally the case when you are not using the updated or correct webcam drivers. When you purchase a webcam it normally comes with a CD that has the software to run the webcam. Install this software if you can. If you do not have the CD I would recommend you visit the website of the webcam manufacturer and download them from the site. The site will have the most up to date software and I recommend using this. If the webcam is fairly old, the software on the cd might not work.

I would also recommend updating the computer drivers directly through the HP site. You can click here for the HP driver update site.

Updating the software should resolve this issue. Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
G33k

Hp built-in webcam

Go to add/remove hardware from control panel and try and detect it. Or check your systems Device Manager to see if the the webcam is there and the drive properly installed. Install the correct drive for the webcam and try using the webcam again.

Adjusting the lighting

Hi,

By default you will get a webcam software on your computer preinstalled. If you are unable to find the software, then you can instal HP provided free sopftware Cyberlink Youcam on the computer.

If you are using Windows Vista in the computer, you can download and install the Cyberlink webcam software from the following link:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp42501-43000/sp42568.exe

After installing the Youcam software you will get the webcam shortcut on the desktop.

Using youcam:

Or you can check directly "Adjusting webcam settings" if you are using youcam software already.
