Sony KP-57WS500 rear projection TV has 3 picture tubes, Red-Green-Blue (gun) to project picture on screen like other rear projection TVs.

If TV is Sony KP-57W500 then Red Gun is defective and requires replacement.

The red picture tube is bad, you must replace before it cause damage to the boards.
