Problem with Acer Aspire 5315 Laptop screen turning white
When I am using my Laptop the screen sometimes turns white completely. This also can sometimes happen when I switch on my machine so it does not seem to relate to heat/cold or software.
Could you please offer advise on what it may be and a possible solution.

try taking out the battery and pluging it in and try turning it on,sometimes a tottally messed up battery will cause that..or mabey your laptop charger is no good,, and the battery is dead so it isnt chargeing ..
I would start by doing a search on Ebay. Often times you can get parts or a damaged laptop with parts for a very reasonable price. I just did a search for your laptop model and found a damaged Acer Aspire 5315 for $81. As of this posting on 10/31 at 9:10 am CST time, the auction ends in 2 hrs.
After doing a quick internet search, I found a web site called http://www.screencountry.com and I saw a monitor for your model listed at $99.
try downloading the compatible acer aspire webcam software for your laptop. My laptop is also acer. It is aspire 4730z and it works perfectly fine. I think the software you are using is not compatible with your laptop.
Also most aspire models have lesser durability webcams. It gets really annoying when webcams of aspire won't work. I completely understand your situation.
Just follow my instruction and it will work perfectly fine.
Turn on your laptop...as soon as it turns you push thepower botton start pressing F8, this will take you to the system recovery screen. You will need to pick the option that says system restore. Dont pick the option that says restore to a restore point, you will need to pick the one that say destructive restore. usually u get this option by pressing the advanced options. It will give you a warning about the system being reformatted...are you sure...yada yada yada... click ok and it should reformat the system and then reinstall the original facotry software
I just came here looking for a solution to the same problem. I have an Aspire 1800 which has a front panel of buttons for the Arcade mode. Basically i just wiped all the buttons again resonably vigiously as i was pissed off and low and behold the FnF6 works again. I tried this after i read another artical suggesting the removal of the touchpad driver. so obviously something is still depressed much like a sticky key which basically switches the screen immediatly back on as i had a flicker at least when i did FnF6. Hope this helps..
