Question about RCA HD52W59 HDTV Projection Television

1 Answer

I have an RCA HD50LPW62A television set....We recently had a power outage. The green power button is on and will not go off. We have tried disconnecting the TV and plugging it back in again, to no avail. The green power button just continuously stays on, but there is no picture, no sound - The TV looks like it's off. We are unable to turn the power button off, either via the remote or by pushing the actual button on the front of the TV. Any ideas? We've changed the bulb in the past, and have also had a new color wheel installed - This problem is totally different than either of those...I'm about ready to throw this TV out the window!

Is this something that can be fixed by a repairman, though?

Also, do you think it could have been related to the power outage?

    Thank you....

Green power button continuously on, screen is black. Cannot turn on or off. Have unplugged several times, to no avail. Technician said it may be a power board that would cost $550-$600 to for part and installation. Basically told me the TV was now a giant paperweight.

    Any ideas?

Tv has been turning off right after you turn it on then after a few attempts it would stay on now the power button on front turns green, it tries to come on but then turns off.

Sounds like high voltage power supply has gone bad. You can try purchasing new PS online and replacing yourself if handy or you will need to bring in for service.

I have a rca hd50lpw62a and its slow to turn on and dim when on.

If your tv is around 2-4 yrs or used 6000-8000 hrs, never replaced the lamp before it could be time to replace it.If you hear strange noises like buzzing or humming noises it could be the color wheel which is a little disc that has a gamma of colors and spins at high rpms. When the light of the lamp goes through it creates the colors on your tv.The other most common failure is the board that powers the lamp, which is called the ballast. When its bad it will make a clicking sound or like wanting to turn on.Your part # for the lamp is 265866 and you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/RCA-265866-265919-269343-271326-270414-Lamp-p/rca-lamp-265866-26591-269343-r.htm Good luck and blessing for your house!

RCA 52'' projection TV: will not turn on

Try unplugging the set for a full minute, then plug it back in and try again.
Sometimes this will reboot a glitched up computer.
Otherwise you will need the assistance of a professional.

Tv dont come on

Sounds like the typical power surge created by the outage has caused a power supply problem inside your TV. IF that is it, there not much you can do yourself.
