I have a toshiba M55-S3512. At first my cd/dvd rom wasnt working. I let a friend check it out and now my cursor is frozen in the middle of the screen. None of the keys work, the only one that does is the power button. I trieed a USB mouse but still nothing. I can boot to safe mode but due to the non movement of cursor or arrow keys I cant select and thing. I tried the function, F9 key also

Sounds like all of the drivers were corrupted in some way. You will need to reinstall the drivers somehow, but since none of the input devices are working, you will need to have assistance doing this, either through a repair shop or through ASUS. If your warranty is still active, they will repair it free of charge.

Well, with the usual efficiency of Toshiba, I can't locate the M55 series laptops to lookup, the M50 does seem to be similar though and all the USB ports there are 2.0. Easiest way? Find a new USB device (memory stick for example) and plug it into each port in turn. Give windows enough time to detect and install it, and if it's a USB1 port, you'll get a message saying "This device can perform faster in a USB2 port".
i need drivers for my toshiba satellite M55-S3512. other drivers i have found from the toshiba web site but only the given below drivers i could not find.
1. Mass Storage Controller
2. Video Controller
3. Video Controller(VGA Compatible)
any one help from where i can find these drivers.
