disconnect the power
remove the pannel usualy you can get to it from the front panel but it may have to be the rear pannel
locate the ignitor
disconnect wires from ignitor
remove it usually only 1 or 2 scews holding it in
intsall is the reverse
Open the dryer door.
Remove four screws - two are holding the door and two are holding plastic pieces opposite the door.
With the screws released, the front pannel of the unit will tilt forward and can be removed.
With the front pannel out of the way, two metal retainers found at the top front of the dryer can be released which allows for the top of the unit to be lifted up and removed if desired.
From this point, four more screws found on the front face were removed which allowed the front ducting and front part of the drum to be removed.
The drum was pulled out (work the belt to the rear of the drum while extracting it - optionally, you can release the belt tension by reaching in and removing the belt from the idler)
The motor is accessable.
Professionals may want to pull all the screws from the side pannel and remove it for easier access.
#1 Unplug the dryer #2 Use a putty blade under the corners of the Console and flip it back #3 Remove 3 screws along back of top that were under the console (Might just be 2) #4 Slide the top forward and remove You will now have full access to the switch. Disconnect the harness and replace the switch. #5 Reverse the above proceedure to replace the top
Unplug the dryer.
Remove 2 screws under the lint filter door.
Use a putty knife to pop the right and left front corners of the dryer top.
Fold the top to the back.
Inside front right and left corners of the cabinet, remove 2 screws.
:ean the door forward and rmove the door switch wires.
Lift up on the door and remove it.
Reverse above order to re-install it.
the belt is thru the frount.asuming there is noise when you start the dryer and its not turning,yes belt.if wont start at all other things to check first starting with door switch.check with me if need more help.ps if wanting in thru frount.pop top and remove frount door pannels.God bless ,tom
Hi! crystal2hd My he3 dryer does not have a door lock. The door switch turns off the light and allows the dryer to start. Make sure this switch is not damaged. Unplug the dryer before removing the front cover. InMrFixIt
