I have an Eago AM128JDCLZ Deluxe Whirlpool Bathtub and cannot for the life of me get any hot water when filling it up. It has a thermostat control dial but no matter which way I turn it the water temperature stays cold. I have a manual but there are no step-by-step on how to fill it.

What do you mean you can't get any hot water? is there a hot water heater?
If you are refering to an inline bathtub heater, they will NOT heat the water from cold. They will ONLY maintain the temperature of the water of what is put in the tub. You will NOT ever feel hot water coming out of the jets like you would a return fitting in a swimming pool.

Turn the thermostat all the way to the right to its highest setting and leave it there. it will only maintain the temperature of the water you put in the tub. so if you start with 98 F water it will not heat it up to hot water. Bathtub heaters ONLY maintain the temperature of the water.

How to fill an ariel bathtub

The proper way to fill the Ariel Bathtub is to turn on the faucet that is near the tub with warm to hot water to your liking. Once it is above the highest jet in the wall of the tub, if your Ariel tub is a Whirlpool model you may operate the jets.

The water in the bathtub won't shut off. Its a one lever on off. I turned the cold water off but the hot water still leaks out of the fill tube a little bit. Why won't the valve shut off the water

washer and or cartridges have failed and need to be replace to stop your leaking faucet. If it becomes to bad before you can repair them, you may wish to shut off the hot water valve to keep it from wasting hot water.

Bath tub leaks

Well if its not from drain then it could be from one of the supply valve (hot/cold) it is also possible that its leaking from the overflow drain. this gets overlooked sometimes because of its location. One thinks that water has to be filled that high but one might be surprised how much water gets there when taking a shower or splashing in the tub. There should be an access panel to check the valves and overflow gasket. If not remove the handles and echuns to see if you can see anything.

I have an Eljer jet bathtub with a smell to the water when we bat

What you smell is algae forming in the pipes. If you have small black particles in the tub when running the jets, it is algae. Fill the tub with hot water, add 2 teaspoons of cascade dish soap and 1/2 cup bleach. run the tub for 15 minutes and drain. fill tub with cold water, run for 15 minutes and drain, tub is now ready to use. repeat as necessary.

Bathtubs Safety Question?

Yes. They are every bit as safe as your standard bathtub or shower. Unlike outdoor spas or hot tubs (which are similar to swimming pools), your indoor whirlpool bathtub is emptied after each use. There are no chemicals or stored water involved.
