Try putting in your OSX cd and holding "C" when it boots up. The problem could be with the board or it might be just a problem with the screen.

After it boots try seeing if you can get it to make sounds by pushing the volume buttons. If it makes the "click" noise then it is the screen that needs fixing.

3 x beeps means there is a problem with the memory, either it needs reseating, replacing or a problem with the slots on the logic board.

No sound device in macbook air

Apple menu (top left) System Preferences > Sound > Output tab select the Internal Speakers
check your output volume and make sure the Mute checkbox is unchecked.
Plugin a pair of headphones. If you still have no sound. The sound board needs to be replaced, which is attached to the logic board. Meaning the whole logic board needs to be replaced.

No picture

Hit F2 to brighten the screen. No picture could be any one of these things you need to buy.

1. New inverter board
2. New LCD backlight
3. New power board/sound board
4. New Logic board

If the parts and repair labor becomes cost prohibitive, then look into a new laptop, unless your handy and can replace the parts yourself.

I am not able to turn it on! Cannot get to powerup

It's either a bad battery, bad charger, bad DC charger/sound board, or loose cable connection underneath the keyboard or maybe a combo of everything. Replace the bad battery and charger are relatively easy fix. Replacing the DC charger/sound board is a bi.ch and requires a little more technical savvy. Making sure all cables are attached securely underneath the keyboard is a relatively painless task of just pressing down on all the power ribbons to make sure their securely seated, but getting the keyboard case open can be a bi.ch.

When i turn it on you can hear the startup sound on my mac, but once it opens the sound icon turns gray. If i plug my external speakers in it works fine but sometimes there is a red light illuminating...

It sounds like your Left I/O board on your laptop needs replacement - this board does power, the left USB port, the ExpressCard slot, and the audio. It sounds like a pin in the audio port got jammed (or broken) and it thinks that it's in optical audio mode, hence the red light. Some people have had luck with sticking a toothpick in the jack and moving it around to possibly unstick the pin inside - but most likely, you need to take it to an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider (likely much cheaper and faster) to get that left I/O board replaced.

Sounds like a logic board problem. If it's still under warranty (12months from date of purchase) take it back to Apple. They're pretty good in situations like this
