My understanding of this problem is as follows: When you put the Windows XP CD into the drive and switch on the computer Windows starts from the CD. In order to access the CD it uses the BIOS. However, at a certain point it decides to use its own drivers instead of using the BIOS. Oops! it doesn't have the right driver because your CD drive is too new, so it can't read the CD, and thus can't continue the install. The solution then is to copy all the necessary files onto a place where Windows can read the files. Solution 1 Do you have another computer? Take the hard drive out of the machine you are installing and put it into the second machine as a secondary hard drive. Switch on the second machine and copy the i386 directory and all its files and subdirectories from the Windows install CD on to the secondary hard drive. Remove the hard drive and put it back into the machine you are installing and switch it on. When Windows then asks for the missing file you can direct it to the I386 directory on the hard drive. This should be C:\I386. It will ask for the location of about 10 files. Give the same answer each time. Solution 2 You will need a bootable CD such as Hiren's boot CD, and a second CD drive. Put Hiren's into the primary CD drive. Put the Windows CD into the second CD drive. Switch on, and choose the mini XP Copy the I386 directory and all its sub-directories onto the hard drive. Again, when Windows asks for the location of the files direct it to the appropriate directory on the hard drive.

Hi, Sounds to me like you are almost assuredly encountering a no signal problem. This would account for the auto tuning not doing anything. I would suggest a newer antenna. Local department stores carry a variety of " DIGITAL T.V. " antennas. And as far as the no audio part I have actually "seen " that problem on my own t.v. ( a portable ). When the tuner does manage to grab a signal if it becomes too weak the picture may freeze or go all diagonal or just disappear altogether leaving just the sound. I hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa, Good luck ,Prodzilla

SOURCE: I have TCL TV set.
The mamory IC inside the circuit of your tCL tv is faulty. Memory IC is one which transfers data to main system IC when we switch the set ON each time. Now it transfers the data to the system IC ofcourse, but not memorize the [LPM]; last position memory. This IC can be located very nearto the main system IC; will have 8 solder terminals. It can be easly unsodered out and resodered in. Its number is most important. Keep a keen look on its number and buy an exact replacemnt. It will be very cheap to buy, and can be had from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. OK.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello, there are three options for such failure, the first and simplest is to try to get the remote control out of the room while the TV is off when it is in stand bye. A second possibility is the micro switches in front of the TV, you can verify that they cause failure by disconnecting the cable that connects them to the main board. If the problem stops, you will need to replace all the front switches. And now the last option, however the more expensive one, that there is a malfunction of the micro-processor circuit, from which comes the command to turn on the TV. let me know if that was helpful!
