SOURCE: My Hotpoint WMA58 washing machine is not heating

We had this problem & called our repair man in. We had accidentally knocked the 'Variable Temperature' dial down too low. It should ALWAYS be set to max (95). The programmer will still sort out the correct temperatures for the different programmes, such as cold wash, but setting that to whatever temperature means that that is the max it will ever reach, Since then, we have not had that problem again.

SOURCE: Hi there, My Hotpoint WD52 washer

Hi.

Yes it is fixable. If the machine does not drain, then the cycle will not advance to spin.

The electronic control checks the input from pressure switch (which detects water level) before advancing to spin part of the cycle. If there is a drain problem, then the machine will not spin.

The first step will be accessing the drain filter. Access is located in front of the appliance, behind the trim at the base of the washer. You will find a cap that can be removed by rotating anticlockwise. Be ready to collect the water that will come from inside the tub.

Check also the drain hose at the back. Ensure that the height of the hose elbow is respecting the specifications indicated in manual. A wrongly placed hose will result in water going in the washer drain pump and tub, causing drain problems and no spin.

Below an article I wrote about the no spin problem. If the problem is coming with no drain, check drain filter, drain hose at the back. If they are OK, the pressure switch may need to be replaced or the pump may be defective.

Here the general troubleshooting for no spin: If you have no spin there may be different reasons behind the problem.

Regards.

Ginko.

My hotpoint aquarius wma50 is rinsing in boiling water, we have checked the pipes at the back and it is taking in cold water at the start .

From this symptom, I would have suggested checking to make sure the correct hoses are fitted to the correct valves at the back of the machine, but as you say, it fills cold for the rinse at the start , which is what all machines should do. The Hotpoint has a heater in it, so I would imagine that there is an electrical problem. If the heater element has shorted out, It may actually opertae when its not supposed to, thus causing the "hot water" during the rinse cycle problem that you have. You could try disconnecting the heater wiring at the back of the machine and see if the machine now rinses in cold water only.. You will need a multimeter to confirm that the element is faulty. Be careful and ensure that the machine is unplugged and the wires are covered over ( Insulated) before you go plugging things back in and running the machine...

How much for the repair manual and trouble shooting guide for my W6021 asko asea front loader, it will not heat, but the heater is good!

Hi.

The thermistor is located near to the heating element(pt.40) and motor(pt.6). The thermistor/holder assembly is part 31/31in picture below:

d0233ee.gif

To get the full part manual click here. The assembly is at pages 4/5.

Here the part.

To test the thermistor remove it from circuit and read Ohms at its terminals. If the thermistor is good it must read zero or very low impedance. If it reads open, then it is broken.

If this solution was helpful, then please do not forget to accept the solution. Your feedback is important to us.

Regards.

Hot point aquarius 1100 - does this have a heating element for cold water feed ? or does is need direct hot water feed ? (there is a inlet at back for both hot and cold so presume no heating element ?)

All Hotpoint washers have heater element regardless of whether they are cold fill only, or hot and cold fill.
if 2 connections at rear, then it is hot and cold fill, if only 1 connection, then it is cold fill only.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

My Hotpoint WMA58 washing machine is not heating the water so the cloths are only getting washed in cold water. Will this be the heater element that has gone? If so how do you change it.
