The above article seems to clarify the differences between PCI, AGP, and PCI Express.
The PCI and PCI Express form is not compatible as illustrated by the pictures of different cards.

Actually, many computers can use a USB fob instead of plugging into a PCI Express slot simplifying installation because opening the case is not necessary with a USB fob.
Is this for a WiFi set up?
