Question about Sony PFM-500A2W 42 in. Television
Code 53-54 means 2 fans on the behind of your Sony are not working.
This could effect the code 12/22.
First fix the 2 fans.
If they're working , see if the code 12/22 has gone too.
If all the fans are working .... all 5x codes are gone !!!
If the code 12/22 is still present ..... the Sony turns on and off again and again.
In this case it's NOT the power supply unit !!!!
But you need to replace the X-SUS & Y-SUS print-boards inside your plasmascreen.
Located on te main printboard on the left and th eright side.
Replacements will cost arround the € 150,00/$ 100,00 for both boards.
Dis-connect the cables from the boards and un-screw the boards.
Replace the boards and re-connect the cablas and screws.
Problem for code 12/22 has being solved !!!!

Hi, I also have this problem, 12-22, the fans sound like only some are running, so I will try replacing the fans before I buy new X-SUS and Y-SUS boards. where do I get new fans from?
