    You should try unplugging it for at least one minute to let it reboot.

    If this doesn't work please get back to me!

The answering machine is most likely referring to the other mail boxes.
if a caller presses 1 or 2 they record in the other mail boxes.On the machine you will see an envelope with a 1 or a 2 next to the envelope.
Press and hold one of these mail boxes and when the messages are played press del to delete each message as it plays. Do this for each mail box.
Have this answering machine and have experienced this problem.

SOURCE: how to get a message on a telstra m450 answering machine

Sorry, I have manual for this ridiculous device and i STILL can't program the wretched thing. By hitting buttons very fast more or less at random you CAN change the day, the minutes but changing the hour appears to be impossible. If ever there was a useless piece of junk it must be this machine. Here are the 'instructions' for what they are worth
To review to current set day and time, press the stop button.  To change the day and time, press and hold the STOP button (as the day and time are read back). To change the day, press the skip button (either one, apparently).
Next the hour will be read back. To change the hour press the skip button . Press the STOP button to set the selected hour.
Suppposedly the same process for the minutes.
Good luck. You'll need it.

HI! How do I change the message on my phone?

You can record your own greeting message (max 2 mins & 30 secs). If you don't record a greeting mesage, a pre-recorded greeting message is used & asks the caller to leave a message. (Make sure your phone has the correct date, time, year, etc.)

To record a message:

1. Menu (OK) the "Answering Device" (OK), the "Record Greeting" (OK)

2. Then after the handset beeps, speak clearly about 20 cm (8 in) away from the mike.

3. To stop recording, press (OK)

4. (Off)

I have a Voca phone RT-250- It does not play back messages. The answering machine plays the recorded message - it records that three messages are there but then doesn't play back the recorded messages.

Need more info here, does the machine record a memo? Set the machine to answer mode and press the little memo button on the very rhs of the machine to start and stop recording.) This should leave a message like through the phone line. Will that play back? Lift the tape lid and see if the tape moves??? With a little more info I can help, I've been repairing those for many many years.

Messagebank provides a personal answering service if your phone line is busy or you can't get to the phone. You don't need extra equipment like answering machines, and you also get greater flexibility on call waiting- if you don't want to interrupt your call, let messagebank take your message. Change voice mail message

Step 1 Compose your message ahead of time. If not, you may end up stumbling, looking for the right words while you are recording your message or leaving out some important details. Composing your message before you begin recording will save you from having to record several messages before you find one with which you are satisfied.
  • Step 2 Make it easy for your callers to listen your message. Record your message in a relatively quiet room without background noise. Speak loudly and clearly. For the benefit of callers who don't have much time, make your message as brief and to the point as possible.
  • Step 3 Begin the recording process by first locating the "Change" button on your answering machine. This button initializes the answering machine for adjustments to the settings of the various features.
  • Step 4 Locate the microphone on your answering machine and lean towards it until you are about nine inches away.
  • Step 5 Locate the "Annc" button. Press and hold the "Annc" button until it beeps. Begin recording your message.
  • Step 6 Watch the message window while you are recording your message. It keeps track of how much time has elapsed since you began recording. You can record a message that is up to three minutes long.
  • Step 7 Locate the "Stop" button and press it when you have finished recording your message. The answering machine will play your message back at this point. If you are not satisfied with your message, repeat the steps to record it again.
  • Step 8 Press "Annc" if you want to listen to your message again

    How do you set up the message for the answering machine? Lost the instructions that came with the unit. I know the phone has a menu, but not sure if this is where I would program the answering machine.

    Greeting message
    When the unit answers a call, callers
    are greeted by a greeting message. You
    can record your own greeting message
    or use a prerecorded greeting
    message.
    Recording your greeting
    message
    You can record your own greeting
    message (max. 2 minutes and 30
    seconds). If you do not record a
    greeting message, a prerecorded
    greeting message is used.
    1 {MENU}
    2 {V}/{^}: “Answering device” i
    {OK}
    3 {V}/{^}: “Record greeting” i
    {OK}
    4 After the handset beeps, speak
    clearly about 20 cm (8 inches) away
    from the microphone.
    5 To stop recording, press {OK}.
    6 {OFF}
    Using a prerecorded greeting
    message
    If you erase or do not record your own
    greeting message, the unit plays a
    prerecorded greeting message for
    callers and ask them to leave
    messages.

    The pre recorded message on the answering machine has been lost.

    I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

    Using a pre-recorded greeting
    message
    If you erase or do not record your own
    greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
    greeting message for callers
    and asks them to leave messages. If the
    message recording time (page 39) is set
    to “Greeting only”, caller messages
    are not recorded and the unit plays a
    different pre-recorded greeting message
    asking callers to call again.
