Black in all cases or with specific programs?
Try reinstalling it, or have a look at some more webcam troubleshooting.

Cant get colour, only Black and White video

probably on the cam settings it ha a case where it said black and white ...this case must free in order to see colored captures....so ..take a look it is placed somewhere in the right ( low) ...I hope you know how to get on camera settings...if not try this..
there are two ways:
one its to open the AM cap and select from the window...options /video capture filter...and than uncheck the B/W case..
the other is to access the preferences in yahoo messenger ....camera settings...an the same ..uncheck the BW...
Good luck ..and hopefully its from there ...if it isnt this one ...must be something wrong with the web cam ....let me know how it worked out..!

I have a dell laptop with integrated web cam..recently i have formatted my laptop nd installed all the drivers including cam driver. I have down loaded recent version of yahoo messgr i.e 9.0 nd installed...

You need to check the settings and configurations relating to your cam. Better to install windows again and reinstall all the drivers. Hopefully it will work

Philips web cam spc110nc

Philips Webcam SPC110NC doesnt work with Yahoo Messenger as advertised. Packaging says it works with MSN/Yahoo/AIM, but when troubleshooting Yahoo IM using AMCAP.EXE (as per the Yahoo webcam help site), it shows color space/compression used by this product is MJPG and this is the only option. Yahoo IM only supports RGB 24, I420, or IYUV.
