Dear lauren_holt,

I'm so sorry to hear that your Pink Samsung D1070 Digital Camera was dropped and appears to be cracked and now has a screen that is white with a black mark!
This doesn't sound good!
Have you tried taking the battery out (make sure you leave it out for a least 1 minute) then replacing it (sometimes overnight or 24 hours will be required)?
Sometimes this works!
You may be covered under the warranty, unfortunately some companies might not honor the warranty if you dropped it.
I'm disappointed in Samsung for even making a camera that would break when dropped if this is true!
Anyway click on the following link for Samsung Support @ http://www.samsung.com/us/support/main/supportSupportMain.do

So I guess Samsung doesn't support your camera model as it appears on your camera?

Please reply so I can note this in my records and let me know also, if you will, approx. what you think it cost because, I believe, some big companies won't support the little person (lower income - lower cost purchases) and I would like to note this for future references to Samsung!

You can try dialing your local operator to get the country code phone # but I wouldn't hope for too much!

Did you try getting the battery out?

I think it must be a fault with the camera as we brought one for my daughter for christmas and had the same problem.we exchanged it and it was ok for a couple of weeks but the black mark has appeared on this one now so we are returning it and asking for a refund.

Lense is coming out but screen is not turning on.

I searched for samsung.com's listing of the d1070 but found nothing.

I would check the batteries again, maybe use Li ion batteries which have higher voltage if available for your camera.

Black blob appears on display screen and the background is white

This usually means that the liquid crystal has been broken in that section. Usually caused by something poking or pressing on that section of the screen. The only solution is to have it repaired or replace the camera. I'd get an estimate from an authorized repair shop or Samsung directly, and then weigh the options against buying a new camera, buying a working used one, or paying for the repair.

if the resulting images are the same, you have damaged the camera settings/controllers. see how they look on your computer.
if only the display on the camera is damaged, you should consider asking for a flat rate repair. most makers offer a price for major and minor repairs, and never charge beyond that.
good luck
