Link your optical cable from your HD box to your surround sound.
Then if you go into your HD services menu, press 4 then go to sound make sure its set to Dobly D
That should sort your problem out

I will put this in its simplest form.

Sky Hd box > TV = (you only want a picture no volume.) use the HDMI cable here.

Sky Hd Box > Cinema Surround = (dont need a picture only sound) use the Optical Cable

with your sky remote. do the following.

scroll to SOUND then Digital audio output is set to DOLBY D and not NORMAL remember to save the settings.

If i was you i would also get some audio leads the red and white push in ones. The reason I say that is not everything on sky is transmitted in Dolby D so it would be worth putting these in so it would support all the broadcasted programs. These's would be connected from your HD box to your Surround sound

To find out if a program is transmitting in Dolby D simply press the i button on your sky remote and it will tell you on the top right of the banner screen. ie HD, DD, W etc etc

    hope this helps you out.

P.s on your sky remote press TV Guide, Red button and choose a film from your anytime.... and crank up the surround sound. Ooh dont forget your pint of carling.

SOURCE: Connecting to HD TV

This TV has no HDMI input socket. It Has a DVI input socket. Therefore you will require an HDMI to DVI converter adapter or an HDMI to DVI cable. The DVI is video only so you will require audio cables from your Sky box (Audio L and R ) which will connect to the back left of your TV (Audio L/R sockets next to the s-video and component video connectors)

I have a lg smart tv and when I switch on the sky hd box the remote work very slowly and then dies when it warms up

Check you remote battery and the connection. You may have to bend the tabs back a bit to ensure a good contact.

Not sure if you are describing the TV or the Sky HD Box remote.

TV link not working with my LG 50PH660V 50-inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD 3D Smart Plasma TV with Freeview HD/600Hz. I connected coax cable to my Sky Box, switching on the RF on, but I can not get it w

Hi Jim, your nearly there, all you need to do is go into the tv menu and move from DTV to the old type channel numbers and then find the bit where you can manually tune the tv to channel 68.
Have a sky menu picture running and you will see it come in.

It sounds like the TV is having sync issues with your Sky+HD box. HDCP is the "High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection" that is used between components. It requires a sync between the devices to ensure that you are not trying to "steal" the video content you are watching. This intermittent message and blacking of the screen is good evidence that this is your problem.

Even though the HDMI cable worked fine on another set, I'd try a new one anyway. Some TVs and components are more sensitive than others, and a weakened cable may not show a problem on one set, yet show it on another.

Barring the new cable not working, check LG's website for a possible firmware update for your TV, and also try using a different video source, like BluRay and see you have the same problems.

Beyond that, it may just be an issue with the TV itself starting to die.

I have an lg ht805ph surround sound system attached to my SHY plus HD Box.Sometimes the sound is out of sync with the picture. How do I stop this happening?

the probable reason it is happening is the delay in your sky box decoding the signal and the surround sound decoding the audio. Have you tried taking the sound from the tv output and using that as the input for the surround sound and not taking it driectly from the sky box, which i am assuming your doing. If you turn off the LG and listen to the sound through the tv is it in sync, if its a random happening then it is the signal quality of the sky receiver thats at fault

We have a lg 47inch tv with led/lcd hd. do you have the codes to programe my sky+HD remote to use on the tv?

On your sky remote select interactive button, go too customer services and select option 5 , setting up sky remote, you should be able to find lg codes to try there. If not then try the internet for codes. You may have to wait though I didnt get my code for 6 months after getting new tv, but dont give up.

Could you please tell me if my LC-32GA5E tv can work with sky HD.The manual tells about switching to hd mode, but there seems to be no where to connect hd to the set.The tv is about 5 years old. thanks...

This is an HD ready TV and can definitely be used with Sky HD, but ONLY if the Sky box is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. It will not work if connected with a scart cable.

So you need 2 things. Firstly, you need to buy an HDMI cable (see picture) if you haven't already got one. Secondly you need to locate the HDMI sockets on your TV and Sky box. The sockets will have the HDMI logo (see picture) next to them.

Please rate my solution if you find this helpful. Thanks.330cd4e.jpg

I am about to receive an LG32LF4700 Freesat/HD TV If I disconnect the SKY Box and connect the TV direct to the Dish cable will I receive Freesat HD channels. Also can I connect an extra bedroom TV into the...

Yes you can split the signal out from the back of the Freesat/HD (not the TV)to the second TV.
Look what outputs are on the Freesat box - the RF (standard cable) output should go to the 2nd TV (TV set to CH3) and the a/v cables,HDMI or DVI cable should go to the new TV - Note:To receive HD the output from the Freesat should be either HDMI,DVI or Composite output (RGB video jacks) with red White for audio. If you have HDMI this is best - it also provides audio.

you will need the following = HDMI LEAD
Optical Audio Lead
Red and White phono Lead

Sky HD Box > connect to Tv via HDMI Lead.

Sky HD box > Connect the optical Audio, and the Phono Leads To your Surrounds sound.

The reason I am wanting you to connect the phono's as well as the optical audio out. Not all programs are transmitted with Dolby D so you will need these for normal sound to come through your surround sound.

One last thing I would like you to check is the sound settings on your Hd box.

On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 4, 2, then ensure that Dolby D is displayed if not highlight and using the blue button change this to Dolby D. then arrow down to save.

On your sky remote. Press SERVICES, 0, Arrow along to SOUND then arrow down and change this to DOLBY D Then press the GREEN button.

Hope this Helps you out. IF so please leave a thumbs up
