Bios Failed During Bios Upgrade

I was upgrading the BIOS for a GA-K8NSC-939 to the latest version ready for a CPU upgrade, but during the upgrade the "blue screen of death" was displayed and the pc crashed. Now when l try to boot the pc l get a long single beep then forward by another beep that pitch goes up and down. I have removed the battery and power and left it for 1hr and still can't get the CMOS to reset. I have also used the jumper on the CMOS pins with any luck. i can't get into the bios by press "DEL" so how can l fix this???

After trying to update my BIOS with @BIOS, I crashed my MoBo.

Since then the Computer doesn't even initiate the POST. No chance to get the MoBo run again...

As the BIOS-chip of my MoBo is soldered directly onto it, it won't help to buy a new flashed BIOS-chip - replacing the BIOS-chip would be much more expensive than buying a new MoBo.

In case one is lucky to have the BIOS-chip into a socket, he may replace the chip with a working BIOS - if not buy a new MoBo. Sorry for the poor news.

If it crashed durring the bios installation, you might never be able to start it up again....if you are unlucky...
Some of the boards can only be reseted by the manufacture..

So the cmos ot the jumpers dosent always help

ok try QFLASH thru Floppy ur motherboard supports it ok follow the procedure this is the last hope for ur dead motherboard

    download bios

    see this also

U may B able to try this if all else fails, at a minimum U need a
floppy setup as a:drive keyboard and PC speaker (the little 1 inside
box that goes beep on post).

On motherboard set cmos jumper to clear/recover (not normal). Insert
bootable bios floppy disk in drive reboot system. Now with luck you may
here a beep and see/hear drive activity on your floppy disk if so your
system is now undergoing bios recovery (hopefully). Once drive
noise/floppy led ceases power down your system. Return the cmos jumper
    to normal position and reboot

pls tell me if it helps do rate me

Greetings. I currently own this board with an AM2 dual/core processor installed. I was just wondering, if I were to upgrade, would this board support the newer AM2+ and AM3 chips, and if so, would a BIOS...

It looks like it will accept certain chips. Check this site and purchase one of the ones listed. As for the BIOS upgrade, the site also lists "since BIOS version xx", so just check your bios version (you should be able to hit pause/break key during the bios boot and see the version on that screen, instructions here), and if it's not xx or greater, go ahead and grab a bios update by clicking the "go" arrow on the CPU listing, it will take you to a download for the most recent bios. BIOS flashing is pretty dangerous, if you need help with that you can search online and find a bunch of tutorials, or just comment back and I can try to walk you through it.

Are you installing Windows XP service pack2? This is the problem from the bios, upgrade the bios with latest and it might solve your issue. But be very careful when upgrading the BIOS if the proper version of the BIOS is not upgraded it may corrupt the bios and will make the motherboard dead. Download the manual of upgrading the BIOS from the website, you will also get the latest version of the BIOS from there.

How to upgrade BIOS in my XW400?

Upgrading the BIOS is an easy task but not recommended unless your computer has a problem which will be solved by a BIOS upgrade.

I assume that you are aware that a failed upgrade may render you system unusable till it is reloaded. Primary cause of a failed upgrade is a power failure so please make sure your PC has a back-up power source in case of a power failure.

The latest BIOS update can be downloaded from this website.

Download the exe file on your desktop and double click on run it. It is to be used on Win XP or 2000.

Before upgrading, check the version of your BIOS. If the version number is same as the one with you are upgrading, it means you have already the latest BIOS and it is not necessary to upgrade. The version number of this BIOS is 3.06 Revision A.

Where can I find info to setup bios. also how do I upgrade bios

For this you need to know the exact model of your motherboard. Your current BIOS firmware version can be seen in the BIOS setup window itself ( Press DEL key during your system startup to enter into BIOS screen)
Your motherboard should have Flash BIOS so as to upgrade its firmware. All latest motherboards will have this type only. Goto your motherboard manufacturer website and search for latest BIOS firmware for your exact model. There itself you can find the utility required for BIOS. download that utility and using which you can update your firmware. Please do update your BIOS only if it is required.
I hopt his is helpful to you

BIOS 1004 cpu not support

I got it :-)

Damn Asus , it was a hard session ;-)

1. Make an ISO from your original Asus CD denn insert (with isobuster or something) the Bios Firmware 1004 in the main Dir name the file M2N-MX.ROM

2.Burn a Second disc with the 0804 Bios ROM also rename the 0804 Rom to M2N-MX.ROM

3. Go to EZ FLASH with ALT + F2 and then insert the 1004 CD wait till Erasing is ready Then Turn OFF your PC :-) so you crashed the bios thats what you need to run the embeded CrashFRee Tool

4 After you turn your PC on insert the 0804 CD then it flashes the this Rom and we are Happy :-)

Issues in Upgrading BIOS

Actually, your motherboard is a GA-7ZMMH, which we were lucky enough to see in the BIOS ID string. You can find the latest BIOS's from Gigabyte's website at: It looks like you're on the F5 rev. I would suggest the F10 rev, and only go to the F11b rev if you need the support for the Athlon XP 2600+. If you are not upgrading your BIOS for CPU support, or you do not need to support a CPU faster than the Athlon XP 2200+, then go with the F10 rev.
