The ping response time is very bad on Cisco 6506.

During test between a PC and the Cisco 6506 switch the response time is unacceptable. What could be the problem please?

It should be Layer 1 Issue (Physical connection). Your cable, PC's Ethernet card or the Interface in your Cisco it self.

P.S.: If this information was helpful, please rate this solution. The ping response time is very bad on Cisco 6506. - aymloekh0fg4hpz2e87n86udvs4fowqwshuaaaaasuvork5cyii=

Problem with cisco sg500

I'm not familiar with the device, but it might be something in the configuration. It could be DHCP, it could be something deeper.
I suggest contact Cisco support directly, they have support forums too.

Lynskys e2500 router dropping log me in

Check the quality of your internet, you can try continous ping command on a ip e.g:
open run: type cmd and hit enter
type: ping google.com -t

it should give reply....
check how many timed outs, that means droped packets,
could be internet issue,
If not check that you are not moving to far away from router range.

Cannot see router through Cisco switch

You're using the correct cable to begin with, and if you were using a crossover cable by accident, the auto-sensing in the switch should have corrected it anyway. Therefore, I don't think your problem is a cable issue... unless one of your cables is physically bad, which you can test by simple replacement with a known good cable.
The next thing I would do is configure my PC to an appropriate static IP address, just to test. That will finesse the DHCP issue and allow you to find out whether or not you are able to access the network as a whole. If so, your issue is limited to DHCP; if not, you have a general loss of connectivity.
One thing I will point out is that the quick-start guide for this switch promises "Free Technical Support—24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week, Toll-Free US Calls" at 800-326-7114, so if the simple steps above don't immediately identify your problem, you may want to give them a ring.

We've got the Dlink DES-1008D setup in our office. Since the past 3 weeks, we've been facing disconnection problems. 5 desktop computers, all new and very recent, are connected to this. We've got an...

Ok, the next time when the disconnection occurs. Try the following:

Open command prompt. And try pinging www.google.com, if the ping is successful and you are still unable to access the internet, then you may want to check the proxy settings on your web broswer, or possibly repair/reinstall the browser. You can also try accessing the internet on a different browser.

If you are unable to ping google successfully, then try to ping the IP address of your wifi modem, this is your default gateway. If you are unable to ping this address successfully, then check the cable from the DES-1008D switch to the wifi modem. As a local area connection 'connected' just shows that the link from your PC to switch is fine.

Please try these steps and let me know the results.

Cat OS 6513 module deteced but not shown in show config

I had this same problem on a switch a while ago. what version of CATos are you running on this switch. the blade you are using might not be upto date.

I had a 6506 with 10/100 modules/ upon installation of 10/100 with inline power the chasis would not detect it but would detect the board.

I updated the CATos version and it worked
