2 most likely causes are: 1: a faulty hood switch.Check for the switch around the microfilter housings near the strut towers. 2: a faulty interior sensor. If you are sitting in the driver's seat. Look directly above your head in the center of the car. Pull the cover at the edges. You should see a sensor inside the cover. Unplug the sensor and retest your system.

My 350hv just shuts off randomly. I can arm it and come back later and it is off and my doors are unlocked!

Sorry, but it is my opinion that car alarms are really, really foolish.
Cars are extremely hostile environments for delicate electronics.
Adding alarms is begging for problems that will leave you without a car.
If you lock any valuables in the trunk, out of sight, there is no reason for an alarm. All an alarm will do is either fail and prevent you from driving, or fail and get you a ticket for a false alarm.

BMW 330i 2003 model... Recently, the alarm has been going off sporadically... doesn't always happen and doesn't happen at night.... Any ideas? Alternately, how can I disarm the system until I get it fixed

I would recommend checking the hood switch. Raise the hood and lock on the left or right strut tower area. You should see a small switch with a rod that sticks up.try disconnecting the switch and see if the problem goes away.If not you have an interior sensor on the headliner under a trim cover. The cover is clipped on.pull the cover down and try disconnecting the sensor to see if it fixes it.

Alarm on my bmw 320d e46 2003 keeps going off for no reason

it may be no reason to you but the trembler switch on these can be very sensitive and a gust of wind or a car going by can set them off, ifound that setting the remote lock 2 times switches this mode off.

I have a 2003 318i bmw alarm keeps on going off for no reason? Sensitivity have been lowered.

Hood switch. remove the switch, let the wires hang, it will have no effect on the alarm

If you don't believe me go down to BMW have them hook up the computer for $105 to tell you which sensor it is. Every time the alarm goes off, there's a history in the computer via codes to say which sensor went off. Save yourself $105 remove the switch and set the alarm for a few days. If it doesn't go off....bingo that's it.
Oh btw, alarm systems are worthless. So the alarm goes off...then what? You going to shoot the guy, no you can't do that b/c you go to jail. Going to challenge the guy.....no...b/c then you get shot, I mean figure the auto thief is competent and brought a weapon. All you can do is jump up and down or pray, both effective against car thieves. Or pay a lot of money to keep you alarm in working order. Now that's stupid.

Factory alarm goes off. Door handle has sprung alittle. maybe the reason? How to disable.? 1996 acrua tl

theres two ways to disable it , 1st way would be to open the driver door and look for the wire that goes to key lock, there should be a wire coming off from there that sends a pulse to the alarm module to make shut off . All you would have to do is ground that wire. Other soulution would be to look for the alarm module that sometimes is at the kick panel and sometimes it says electronical alarm module hope that helps

Alarm going off

When you arm the alarm, hit the lock button twice within 5 to 10 seconds. If it does not go off any more it is the interrior sensor.
