    i think its built in to the motherboard the outputs arnt on a seperate card in the slots.. ive gone through my computer looking for anything telling me what sound card it is, i really dont know.. i would of thought it is one that would be in all sony vaio PCV-RZ221 series machine. also headfones do not work either. i thought it would be a simple driver d/l from vaio but its difficult for me. i hope this is enough info. thanks

    u can also try to install these drivers for a quick solution just extract all contents to a folder on desktop and then go to control panel go to system >device manager and then expand the list see for sound device if there is one that is not recognized and have exclamation mark right click take properties and update the driver from there select that folder on desktop when it asks u the drivers for update and it will do the rest , ok good luck for u and

    pls do rate me if i fixed ur problem

1: check the speaker wire. it should connect to a green port at the back of the computer.
2. In control panel open realtek audio device manager. it will tell you where its connected
3. try to configure the speaker from audio device manager on the system tray volume icon
still doesnt work then uninstall the driver for sound card from device manger
restart the computer

My sound is not working, it said that can not found sound device, how can I make that the system look such device.? Thank you.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers

My sound doesnt work, have plugged my hi fi speaker to the pc but still nothing,wont even let me get into volume settings, it all just comes up faded screen, do i need to download an audio/sound...

Yes, it sounds like you need to update the driver for your Audio Card. You can do this automatically using a program called DriverEasy from the following site: http://www.drivereasy.com/

Follow the instructions on the web page and choose to install the driver for your sound card which should appear in the list.

Sony Vaio vgc rb52 no sound ... speakers work/computer sound won't work?

Hello there... Check your PC's volume. You may or someone in your household has accidentally muted it. Unmute it or increase its volume (if you can't find the audio icon in the taskbar, proceed to the control panel - it's there), it maybe too low. Hope this helps... Ai :)

Comp stuck on vaio screen

It might be a motor going bad, as in a HDD or fan. Try to pinpoint where the noise originates. Is it coming from the speakers or somewhere else?

Vaio TXN19P no audio!

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Audio problem(s) on any computer system could either be hardware (least likely) or driver issues (most likely).

That being said, you could initially try:
  • change your speaker/headset;
  • verify that the sound device is enabled in your CMOS/BIOS configuration/settings;
  • check Device Manager/Sound Controller, there should be no yellow or red markings. If so, try re-installing the drivers.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
