T9 Dictionary on Samsung SGH-A707

My T9 dictionary is giving me some trouble. There are words that I use frequently that normally used to come up as the first suggested word, but when I accidentally typed in something else it saved those random assortments of letters as the primary suggested word. I can't figure out how to delete them from my T9 dictionary. For example: when I try to type the word "not" my phone comes up with "oou" and when I try to type "its" I get "iur"

Also, when I try to type a word that isn't in the dictionary and it asks me to spell the word and save it, I type in the word and save it. The next time I go to spell this word again, it hasn't saved, yet it can save the words that I unintentionally typed. Its rather aggravating, any answers?

The only way to fix this is to completely reset your message memory. To do this, go to Menu -> Settings -> Memory Settings -> Clear Memory -> then click Messaging and OK. You will be prompted to enter your password. Enter it, confirm and you should have no problems.

Samsung SGH-c225 predictive text malfunction

If you have accidentally saved a word into the T9 dictionary (ie, "IS" comes up with "47" or "Get" comes up with "HDU", you can teach the dictionary to revert back to the original word.

What you have to do is..... create a new text message, enter the text that is annoying, (ie, "IS"). When you type the word and it comes up with the annoying one, select the word that you wanted and enter a space, and do it again and again - you can do this in the same text message - it can take up to 20 goes but eventually, the dictionary recognises that you actually wanted "IS".

Reset the T9 text dictionary

I ran into this problem as well, and it is extremely annoying. I just lived with it for the longest time and then I finally decided to go looking for a solution. That came to a quick end when I found the Samsung FAQ and it said that there is no way to delete words from the predictive dictionary. However, that got me thinking. If it's predictive, can I teach the predictive to write the correct word? The answer is YES! Open a blank text message, don't worry about a number just go to the text entry portion. Type out the word and press zero to change it to the correct word instead of the numbers. Do this 10-20 times IN A ROW and then the phone will recognize the right word as being most used and change it back to that.

Unable to turn off t9 dictionary

try to hold the # button, or press it a few times durring the text message - it should flip from t9 to standard and maybe even symobls.

or else go into your message, being a new message then go to options - you should see some option change from t9 etc.
