Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
My problem isn't a new one but I wish to present a perspective I've never heard explored. When attempting to play an Xbox 360 disc I often receive the message stating that I must place the disc in an Xbox 360 console. This occurs about 90% of the time regardless of the discs condition or the consoles temperature. On the other hand, Xbox Original discs, provided that they are supported and not severely damaged, work 100% of the time. I find this interesting because what it suggests is not that there is trouble reading the disc but rather that the console does not recognize itself. My ignorance of the finer points of tech prevent me from speculating on this further so I ask you fine folks. Is there any logical reason why an Xbox 360 would believe it is an original Xbox? Does the driver switch between the two modes when reading each type? Could it be getting stuck?
One of the lights used for reading discs may be out if that is the problem just send it back to microsoft to have them repair it granted you have insurance (warrantee) on your xbox.
