Question about Sanyo DS31590 31" TV
I fell asleep last night watching TV. When I woke up this morning, the picture was black except for a thin line across the center of the screen. This TV is over 5 years old, but I have never had any kind of problem with it whatsoever. Any idea what has happened and about what it would cost to repair?
This is a vertical problem that can be as simple as poor connections at the vertical IC or a defective IC. If you can solder, you should be able to fix this yourself. Realize that there are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside hte set even when unplugged. If you wish to attempt this repair, please update this and confirm your model number as DS31590 and I'll supply additional details and instructions.
