My Wii is not working. It will come on but the remote will not sync with the console (the hand does not appear on the scree). We purchased a new remote but it still is not working. We pushed the red...

You will have to update the wii to play newer games. Your controller problem if it does show a led light on the remote then its synced. If its just not showing you a hand on the screen then its probably your sensor bar. If your controller will not sync and all four leds flash then I would push the button on the console and push the button the remote then just try hitting the a or b buttons. I've also had to slap the remote after hitting the sync buttons to get it to sync. The update thing is normal though.

Wii remotes have all 4 lights flashing and won't work

You need to try and sync it with the wii. Push the red button down on the front of the wii under the little lid and push the red button by your batteries on your controller. If it still doesnt work try slapping the controller a little when trying to sync to the wii. Hope this helps.

On my wii remote at the bottom of the remote belong 1&2 them lights all flashing and it will not pick up we change the batties still not working can you help me..

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and press the SYNC button just below the batteries. The Player LED will blink.
  3. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 to 4).

This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.

Help! I've just bought a BRAND NEW wii and I can't even get past the screen after the language options! The black bar on top of the TV is clean and works, it has 5 LED lights on either side, so no problem...

If this happens with multiple remotes then you may need to exchange the system where you purchased it.
I would first recommend that you look at the Wiimote when you sync it. The lights at the bottom should flash after the Wii is turned on BUT should light a single one of the four lights steady after a few seconds. If it doesn't, then your problem isn't with the sensor bar. If you've attempted to sync them with no luck, then it is probably (and very unfortunately!) a hardware failure.
Also, I'd check the order in which you are syncing the Wiimotes. I think you SHOULD press the sync button hidden on the front of the console FIRST and then the Wiimotes SECOND. If that doesn't work, then try it backwards just to be safe. If neither work, then I hate to say it, but I suggest you go hunting for your sales receipt! :-(

Cannot get the remote to turn on. Get four continuous blinking lights then nothing. Replaced batteries and tried "slapping it" on my hand...still NOTHING!

did you try to sync it? Thier is a red botton on the back of the controller, also one on the middle of the wii were the sd card goes in press that and press or hold the red botton on the controller.

Wii remote wont stear when driving pointer works though

Hold it like you're going to hit something with it, then slap the back of it into the palm of your other hand a couple of times. Not too hard to hurt yourself though. One of our wii motes wouldn't steer properly in Mario Kart and slapping it a couple times made it work. It's worked perfectly ever since. If that doesn't fix it, call Nintendo for replacement.

Cursor does not appear

exchange it

    Cursor not appearing
Please note that our experience shows that this troubleshooting is best performed using only one (1) Wii Remote at a time.
  • Some games do not use the cursor feature of the Wii Remote; Make sure the game you are attempting to play uses the cursor by reading the game's instruction manual. You can also exit out of the game to return to the Channel Menu and use the Wii Remote to see the cursor. If the cursor still does not appear, continue with the steps below.

  • Trying to use multiple Wii Remotes in the Mii Channel or Photo Channel? These Channels only allow the Wii Remote designated as "Player 1" to function.

  • Verify that the Wii Remote's pointer lens is free of obstructions and contamination (stickers, heavy smudges, etc.). The pointer lens is the tinted rectangle at the end of the Wii Remote.

  • Check the battery power level by turning off the Wii console, then opening the battery cover of the Wii Remote. Press and release the red "SYNC" button to check battery strength. The number of lights flashing indicates the Wii Remote's battery strength. Four flashing lights indicates full strength. Our experience has shown that as your battery strength decreases to one (1) or less lights flashing, the cursor may not appear. For troubleshooting, if possible, try using fresh batteries so that all four lights illuminate. For guidelines on using batteries, please click here. If after inserting brand new batteries, you are still seeing less than all four LEDs flash, then your Wii Remote will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair information.

  • Is the Wii Remote properly synced?
Press the POWER button on the Wii Remote to see if the Wii console powers on.
    • If it does, the Wii Remote is synced with the system. Please skip to the next section.
    • If the power doesn't come on, power on the system manually and try syncing the Wii Remote.
      • If the Wii Remote will not sync, there is likely a problem with the Wii Remote. Please click here for repair information.
      • If the Wii Remote will sync and the cursor still does not appear, try another Wii Remote if possible.
        • If at least one Wii Remote is working, there is likely a problem with the first Wii Remote and it will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair information.
        • If you have only one Wii Remote, or none that are working, please continue troubleshooting.

  • Make sure that the Wii Remote is being used between 3' and 10' directly in front of the TV and that there are no bright light sources affecting the Wii Remote's operation (review Game Play Guidelines for more information), and that the Sensor Bar is placed properly (see Sensor Bar setup).
  • Check the cord on the Sensor Bar for any frayed wires or kinks, and verify that the Sensor Bar is free of obstructions.
  • Check the button functionality, and that the Sensor Bar is operating correctly, by accessing the Wii Main Menu. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to scroll side-to-side through the Wii Channel screens.
    • If you are able to scroll with the "+" and "-" buttons, but the cursor is not appearing, then there is likely a problem with the Sensor Bar. Please click here for additional Sensor Bar information.
    • If there is no response, there is likely a problem with the Wii Remote. Please click here for repair information.

Wii Remote Control Stopped Working

This happened to my son. I did some reading and found out you have to resynchronize the remote. This is from the manual
1) Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
2)Remove th battery cover on the back of the remote and press the SYNC. button inside the cover. The Player LEDs will blink.
3)Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment
4)When the Player LED blinking stops, connection is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number.
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii remote added to your system.

This worked for me, hope it helps you.
