Only the socket 754 and higher Sempron CPUs support SSE2, and some of the early motherboards require a BIOS update.

Is your CPU and HSF fitted correctly?
Usually if you get freezes and shutdowns it is due to overheating.
You may also have a virus/malware infection.
Boot into safe mode with networking (F8)
turn off system restore
Run a virus scan
Download Malwarebytes and give it a full scan.

If this is not your problem please write back

Download BIOS update form the website for your motherboard.Burn it it cd if you get that type of writable image on site. Or use another processor to make update on this mainboard. Dont forget, NOT ALL CPUs ARE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MAINBARDS. Check If your processor is supported.

You don't need to update the BIOS unless something is not working, the BIOS tells the computer where to go to find the OS and then the OS takes over.

Soft Utilites means another word for 3rd Party software, so you download third party software to update your bios.

The AMD Sempron 3100+ Processor is the highestspeed CPU you can run in the W3107 E-machine. No there are no drivers that need to enabled.The system bios sets up the cpu. Did you install this CPU?
