Hello

To update the BIOS on the IBM 300GL PC, you will need to go to the Lenovo web site to get the latest update and install instructions.

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&LegacyDocID=MIGR-4HAMXK

This will get you to the instruction and download page for your PC.

I have an IBM 300GL personal computer with window 2000 installed but corrupter and how can i repair it?

See the Microsoft article on how to perform an in-place upgrade of Windows 2000 - this assumes that you have a working Windows 2000 boot CD to use.

The alternative would be to install Windows XP or one of the free Linux distributions that are available.

I canot boot my pc i select f12 then coming boot menu i select boot from cd rom but not display press any key to boot

If I understand what you are asking, you want to boot from CD but the boot from cd/dvd at start up is not showing up. It sounds like you have set in your BIOS enable boot from CD/DVD, But to be able to boot from CD/DVD you need to "in your BIOS" go to drive manager or it could be called boot drive priority, something llike that and put the CD/DVD drive first or at least before your Hard Drive.
That should make this show up for you now as long as its a bootable CD/DVD disk.
Hope this helps.

I want to install windows Xp to mya IBM 300GL.. But, I couldn't boot from CD... what i have to do???

hello

start your PC and press or hit the DEL or F2 key to enter into CMOS setting and set your first boot device into DVD or CD. or in the CMOS / BIOS setting just simply LOAD THE OPTIMAL DEFAULTS OR LOAD SETUP DEFAULT and save and Exit.

Than you

IBM computers use the F1 key. It is critical that the keystroke is captured at the right moment in the boot sequence. Otherwise it is ignored. Start tapping the key repeatedly as soon as you turn the system on. Shortly after the memory check and mouse initialization is complete, you should get a BIOS setup menu. If you're still having problems, you might try a different keyboard since it is always possible to have a defect there.

How to install bigger HD in IBM 300GL GL PC? Any limitations?

Is it IDE or SATA? Put the Hdd in your pc, on IDE, the wide ribbon cable is for data, it can only go in one way, and power is the molex connector. 4 power points, ussualy 4 wires. orange, black, red, black, yellow. can only go in one way. thats it. Make sure that if you are running cd/dvd roms and you have 2 hdd's, that the two hdds run on the same ribbon cable, and the cd roms on their own cable. also put the new hdd to slave. (you change it via jumper settings, ussualy printed on the hdd itself)

SATA is easier. you need two cables. sata power, and data. they can also only go in one way. google sata connectors if you don't know how they look. though, if i is a PIII board, i doubt it'll support SATA, so you'll need to buy an IDE hdd.

Goodluck

you may want to boot from the install disk, in CD area, to see if you have a blown hard drive.
