The electrical cord on my Necchi is completely dry rotted. Can it be replaced or do I have to buy the power source (black box with the push button on it). The cord is attached to the black box.

I HOPE this problem was resolved months ago. There is an electrical 'short' in her Necchi. A replacement pedal should fix it.

sounds like a sew-tric plug an motor if so under the motor's electrical connection cover there is a wiring diagram moulded onto it

the machine could have a short in it or the power cord,, it would be a good idea to have the machine and power cord checked...

Sound like it may need service, it is dried out and sticking.

All you can do is rewire it.
