Try to press and hold the reset botton for 15 seconds if that will not work try to press the power botton for at least 10 seconds. If these two will not work, call the tech support of magellan and check if its still under warranty so they can fix it for free. But if its not under warranty try to trade it in for free and they will give you a cheaper price.
I accidentally ran into this problem today when I inadvertantly plugged the wrong charger into the unit. I'm guessing that the device isn't getting the precise current it's expecting and thus thinks it's plugged into a computer. I'd suggest getting hold of a different charger and see if the problem goes away.
