Question about Dell Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Resolution Problem!! I am having this screen resolution problem after reformatting... I have a HDTV(1080p) hooked up to my computer as secondary/primary monitor, but now I can't fit the picture to screen on my HDTV, I can only fit to screen with 1152 by 648, if I pick 1280 by 1024 the picture would only show in the middle of the screen. And for my computer monitor if I pick any other resolution besides 1280 by 1024 the picture would like very weird and distorted, it was never like this before... Can anyone help? Thanks

If you have the same monitor as when you bought the PC do a default reset. should take care of it. If you have a new monitor, just keep tweaking it. you'll get there. play with the settings.

I have a HP envy750-414 hook up to a flat screen tv how do I adjust the resolution I have tried everything do I have to get an HP monitor.

The resolution is controlled by your computer the same way you would control the resolution if you were connected to a monitor. The problem may be the TV, you say it is a flat screen but you don't give any more details. How many inches? Is it 720p, 1080p or is it a HDTV. The 720 will give you the worst picture and the HDTV will give you 1920X1080 resolution. What connection did you use? A VGA connection will not be as clear as HDMI.

How I get a 1080p display. I only get 720p

You need to have a 1080p source. Most TV channels broadcast in 720p. Otherwise, a bluray player hooked up via HDMI will give you 1080p. The TV will switch to the correct resolution automatically.

Your computer video graphic adapter output is not conforming with your monitor resolution. use auto setting on your monitor to adjust or right click your desktop to reduce your resolution or u can restart your computer & continue pressing f8 button before the window start up & select start window with VGA mode this will automatically adjust your cpu resolution with the best capability

How do i change from 480p to 1080p on my rca remote

You don't. The TV's resolution can't be changed. Only the signal resolution from the source can be altered.

The TV reports the resolution of the incoming signal before it is scaled. If you have a BD player you can see the effect of changing the resolution setting from 480p, to 720p, to 1080i, to 1080p 60, to 1080p 24. The last three (the 1080 resolutions) shouldn't look too different with a Blu-ray apart from movement because the native picture is 1080p 24 and the TV is simply converting it back to 1080p 24 for display.

Pc resolution doesnt fit on screen

There is probably an overscan option in the TV menu. Make sure that is off. Otherwise, adjust the resolution on the computer to fit correctly.

I want ot change my LG television Model 47LH40 to 1080p using my LG remote

1080p video resolution can only be achieved by a Blu-ray Disc. Satellite TV, broadcast TV, cable TV do not actually send out 1080p resolution. So unless you are using a Blu-ray movie, you will not be viewing 1080p. Your HDTV has a NATIVE screen resolution and the TV will SCALE all incoming video to its native resolution. Most people cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080i. 1080p signal sources are slightly sharper. But if you have a HDTV that is 1080p capable and you give it a 1080p source (Blu-ray Disc) and use a HDMI cable to connect, you will get 1080p, you do not have to change the HDTV as it will automatically display 1080p.
