I put an after market cd player in my 2003 acura 3.2 tl type s. all the speakers are working fine but i am not getting any sound out of the factory subwoofer, it is not working. any idead what i did wrong...

You got to connect the blue amp turn on wire. If still dont work. then you got to find the factory amp find the two wires that sends frequency signals to the amp. You will see a total of 7 wires. So you've got to use process of elimination. Use a multimeter.

1.Constant 12 Volt
2. Ground
3. Amp turn on
4. + output wires going to the + of the subwoofer
5. - output wires going to the - of the subwoofer
6 + input wires going to the radio harness
7 + input wires going to the radio harness

6 & 7 are like the rca's you plug in at the input of an aftermarket amplifier and and on the other end plug in the output subwoofer of the Radio.

So on a factory amp you wont see any RCA's its all wires. Once you find the first 5 just remember the last 2 wires.

If you want your radio to control the gain and volume of the Subwoofer get a long RCA plug it on the back of your radio that says sub output and then cut the other end of that RCA and connect the positive the + input wire on the amp and the negative to the negative input wire on the amp.

If you dont know whats positive or negative just go ahead and connect it and experiment. You will know if your in phase when the subs sound boomy. Then the connections are correct. If it sounds Tinney then the connection is out of phase. solder then tape all connections with black electrical tape. Dont leave any power wires exposed or else cause a short and blow fuses.

Good luck

My son pulled out all the wires out of the plug in the back of the deck. now i dont know what wires are what, and were they go into the back.the plug also got damaged.

The wires usually have very small print on them to let you know what wire is what if not you canh buy a whole new harness at the maker of your car.

I want to install in my car a panasonic car stereo AM/FM/CD player CQ-EN9680TA, i dont know the wiring code of the terminal (power and speakers connections), can you help me pls? thank you

Hello marlomeneses,

Wiring color codes are different for different makes and models. Go here and select your vehicle for the color code: www.modifiedlife.com

The best way is to purchase a vehicle specific wiring harness that plugs directly into your car wiring. Splice the wires from the harness that came with your new Panasonic to the vehicle specific harness and plug them in.

Here's an example of such a harness made by Scosche. This one fits 2002 and newer Chrysler/Jeep vehicles. There's a harness for most all vehicles. Local car audio shops, Best Buy, and even WalMart sell such harnesses.

Hope this helps.

Gauges dont work after new cd player install

you will have to go to the gm garage and ask for the wiring diagram to match the wires up. but the way to fix it the right way is to go to the junk yard and cut the harness out of a car and splice the wires back together then go to wall mart or best buy to get the right wiring adapter then you can match them colors up to your new radios wires and plug into your car

Re wiring

Yellow is constant battery source, red is switched for when the car is actually running (otherwise your radio would always come on and kill the battery),black is ground, blue is to power a amp and/or illumination, the rest, probably green, green w/black stripe, white, white w/black stripe, purple, purple w/black stripe, and gray, gray/black stripe are for speakers. Stripe is the negative. I dont know the which one is which exactly off the top of my head but u could hook each one up individually and hear which speaker comes on. I can't guarantee that every car is like that but I have put in a dozen or so radios in my time. Hope that helps
