If the cd cartridge is jammed , and if the player is out of warranty then remove the power cable and remove screws on the side of the player
remove the top cover and you have access to cd cartridges try removing
it gently and make sure you do not brake any parts ...once done try insert the
cart again in the player and check if its jammed again if yes then you may need to replace the cart tray unit ....

good luck...

On some models there is a small hole for a paperclip to fit in to eject the tray, most dont.

Try unpluging the player, also hold down the eject button.
Last option is to take it apart and manually eject the disc.

Is your unit still covered by warranty? opening it yourself to eject the cd tray may void the warranty.

There should be a pinhole either in the eject drawer or just below the drawer. This is a manual eject; unbend a paperclip, insert it into the pinhole and see if it will manually release.

Pioneer model # PD-M423 won't read the CD and ejects it.

If it is with all clean cd's then it can be a dirty lens which you can buy cleaner for, but i've read the manual and was dated 1993, so if a cleaner not helps , it's the unit itself and time for a new player. Parts are very expensive and it's one whole unit..... I think it's the end.

Where does the cables from the cd player connect to.

Depends on the capabilities of the device you're connecting it to.

Typically, the analog Audio Out RCA cables would go to any corresponding Line Level input; the coaxial- or optical-digital audio would go to any compatible connectors on the receiving unit.

Have the same problem. Had friend, electronic tech look at it. Pickup assembly failure. Use Partstore.com or Pioneer to find part and then cross reference with other models that use same part. I bought used item on Ebay, $40 to repair my unit. Simple 5 screws, two pug in cables. Be sure to discharge static electricity from body before touching interior parts. Up and running in 20 min,
