If it is older, the pump may not be draining the machine completely. The impellers, which is what acually moves the water could be clogged with yuck and could be cleaned if you can take the machine apart. If you call the repairman, he will likely replace the pump and motor.

Smelly water in the Dishwasher to coil if not

if you're not using the d.w. for a couple of days and water is still coming into the d.w. you have a bad water valve on the bottom left hand side of the d.w..the valve isn't closing all the way allowing water to enter the d.w. even when it's not in use.you can try shutting off the water valve under the sink and see if this stops the water from going into the dishwasher,if it does then you definetly know it's a bad water valve on the d.w.let me know what you find

Hello. Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposal and look into the disposal tube where you will see a plastic plug that you will need to knock out with a screwdriver and a hammer. Regards, J.

After cycle is complete my dishwasher doesn't fully drain water.

If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).

Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.

**Water temperature Note***

To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.

Concerning the Film(slimy looking substance).

This problem occurs due to excessive calcium build up inside the dishwasher. Try cleaning you dishwasher using a dishwasher cleaner. There are a few out there, Try Dishwasher Magic.

Dishwasher not filling with water. It is not the float. GE PDW 8480 Dishwasher

It could be the fill valve or that the power is not getting to the fill valve. Pull the bottom panel and find where the water line hooks up to the valve. There should be an electrical connector on the valve. First, listen when the dishwasher is at the cycle where it should be calling for water, to see if youhear a click of the valve opening or water running in. If not, and you have a volt meter, pull the electircal connector and check for AC voltage across it when the dishwasher is off - it should be 0, and when the dishwasher normally would fill - it should be something above 0 - it might even be 110v. If the voltage is ok, but the valve is not working, you need to replace the vavle. If the voltage stays 0, then something is wrong in the timer/control circuitry.

GE Nautilus Drain Problem

I had the same problem (water remaining in the bottom) after the rinse cycle. FYI my GE Nautilus is 7-years old.
(1) I disconnected the drain tube at the garbage disposal unit (in the sink) and, using a wire coat hangar freed a 'plug' of sludge located at the spot where the drain tube clamps onto the garbage disposal. I blew into the drainage tube to further clear other 'plugs' I observed but could not reach w/the coat hangar.
(2) I unscrewed the Filter/Strainer on the inside (bottom) of the dishwasher; and further removed the inner filter; cleaned both out.
(3) Re-ran the dishwasher thru complete wash/rinse cycles (to check for leaks. There were none.
Finally, upon completion of the w/r cycles there will always be a small pool of water (residing in the filter area). However my dishes are clean and (after 7-years) checking the drain tube and filters was a breeze.
Hope this helps
