Question about RCA Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I bought an RCA rear projextion tv last week from a private owner. I watched the tv in their home and it worked just fine. When I got it home it wouldn't power on. It clicks three times like it's trying, but never powers on.

Maybe you want to check to insure that none of the internal boards or parts have come loose from the mother board. But by all means always be extremely cautious when removing the cover, and you should always follow manufacturer instructions concerning repair, or I suppose if you choose you can always go the shadetree way, and troubleshoot it yourself...Goodluck

RCA 46'' rear projection TV, dated 1998 won't turn on

Probably a new problem given the age of the TV. If you already haven't done so, try unplugging the power for about 10 minutes, plug back in and try again.

TV wont turn on, makes buzzing noise and shuts off

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

TV will not turn on

Probably needs a new HV Splitter block, they are very difficult to replace and can usually be accessed thru the front behind the speaker grill and behind convergence board.
