Hold the power button on PS3 to reset. When switching from hdmi or s video the ps3 needs to be reset to acknowledge the different video connection. Wont change anything on ur system just video feed. Lots of info on utube re this...fyi
Hello, you will want to reset the video output.First make sure the unit is off,the yellow video and red and white audio cords are connected to the tv then press and hold down the power button till you hear the second beep. The unit is now reset.
Try this: Power off the ps3 (red light) then hold down the power button until you hear 2 beeps and let go. that should work, you just needed to reset the ps3 to work on your tv from HD to the AV cable or vice versa
Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)
Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep as soon as you press it and then about 5 seconds later it will beep again. Let go of the power button when you hear this second beep.
Step 3. Wait for your PS3 to start.
This solution basically resets the video output back to standard definition. If this does not work then it is probably down to a faulty Graphics Processing Unit on the motherboard which is unfortunately terminal. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa
you need to plug the usb cord in to the ps3 and the controller. then press the ps button then it should work. if it does not then keep it plugged in and press the small reset button with a pin on the back of the controller and then repeat the first step.
Your video and audio settings have been incorrectly setup.
With the console in standby, hold the power button for about 5 seconds until you hear 2 beeps then let go, this resets the video settings of the PS3 and as you are using HDMI I presume, the audio settings are set by the HDMI wizard.
Now go in to the video settings and go through the wizard again and the PS3 will auto detect your HD and audio settings and set them up.
Hard re-set the unit by pressing and holding down the main power button (front panel) for 5 - 7 seconds (from the off position). it will beep 3 or four times. You will need the composite video cables the unit came with to get bak into the units video settings.
