Question about Whirlpool LGB6300 Gas Dryer
I checked the belt. It is fine and in tact. The dryer drum (when started) will turn for a second and then thump, then the motor hums and an electrical smell emits...it's obviously working too hard? Is the motor bad? or does the belt need to be loosened or tightened?
I have a strong feeling the motor is seized or at least in the process of... I would recommend a new motor. If you are mechanically inclined, it's a very easy process. If you need help, I would be more than help to walk you through it.
