Nothing is wrong with your system. When this happens, its usually because the Email address is invalid.

You ask the person to email you, that way you get the right email to send to.

It appears that my email account is sending hundreds of emails to random email addresses. My spam filter indicates several hundred returnd or dameon failure notices every couple of days.

I would suggest you to change your password for the email address your email might have been hacked hence i would suggest you to have a strong password wth a CAPS letter , numbers and special characters in your password.

If you find this suggestion helpful then please rate the solutions.

I got this afternoon several failure notices. The thing is that I have not sent any of those emails. I attach one of the failure notice emails: --- On Mon, 9/27/10,...

If you didn't send any of those emails, you might have spyware or a virus infecting your computer. Run a virus scan if you have anti-virus software installed, and hopefully it will find and remove the infection. If you don't have anti-virus software, you should definitely download and install a program. Avast and AVG both offer free anti-virus scanners. If you have the Yahoo! Toolbar, you can run CA Yahoo! Anti-Spy directly from the toolbar, which should be able to detect most spyware and some viruses.

Your yahoo inbox is probably full, try deleted any unwanted emails, sent emails, empty trash etc. See if that works, if it does not , contact yahoo via the help link on any page of your yahoo email.

...emailing to germany

Please check the exact error on the failure notice mail. If message states that it's "Unknown User" that means the email address of your friend is incorrectly type in. Ask for a valid email of your friend to correct this issue.

I think there's no other way except contacting your yahoo support. In free email, no important setting you can set.

Cannot Send Email to Anyone!

Also, it looks like Yahoo are now checking the verification of your account before you can use the SMTP service.
You need to do this..

Email

Why do I get a "Failed Delivery" message?

When you get mail from a "MAILER-DAEMON" or a "Mail Delivery Subsystem" with a subject similar to "Failed Delivery," this means that a message you sent was undeliverable and has been "bounced" back to you.

These messages are produced automatically and usually include a reason for the delivery failure.

Bounced messages normally consist of two parts. The first contains the reason for the bounce; the second contains your original message.

The most common reason for a failed delivery is that the email address you entered isn't valid.

If the Mailer Daemon says that the account doesn't exist, double-check the spelling of the address you entered.

A single misplaced letter can be enough to cause a failed delivery. If the message continues to be bounced back to you, you might want to verify that the account hasn't been closed or moved.

If there's a different reason given and you'd like us to investigate it, just let us know.

If you can copy and paste the reason given for the failed delivery into the message you send us, it will be very helpful as we attempt to determine why your message bounced.
