I'm not sure if you want java for your computer or to learn programming. If you need it installed on your computer go to java.com If you are wanting to learn to program in the java language you can do a search for learn java programming and pick the type of course you want. Or if you are just curious to the language and want to learn about it and what it does and how either do a search or go to about.com they have a lot of info on programming that yu can get for free.

I am trying to install an Java 6 update 20

If you are using any form of Anti Virus software, it could be stopping the installation process. Go to the SUN Java website, and download the latest version. Save it to your desktop. Take a moment to reboot your machine completely. DO NOT start any other programs after rebooting. Stop or disable your ANTI VIRUS software. Install the JAVA update and reboot. The update should work, and upon rebooting after the install, your AV software should start again. If it is still disabled, enable it.

Can i get the code to convert Text to XML using JSp

That depends upon precisely what you want to do, but generally yes, it's a fairly straightforward process to convert text to XML using here is a reference site touching on the topic you requested:
http://www.devsphere.com/xml/taglib/process/reference.html and according to this site in reference to their XML Java Tag Library they offer as a free download, "XJTL provides several XML parsing actions (<p:parse>, <p:element>, <p:start>, <p:end>, <p:data> and <o:pi>) that let you build JSP pages that process XML documents in the most natural and easiest way possible." As my Java professor used to say, "Java is not merely a programming language, it's a way of representing the entire world." That is akin to XML, which is an acronym for eXtensible Markup Language. The extensibility itself is why I answered your question cautiously above.
