Try these solution :

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Canon MP830 Error Code 6AOO

The error seems to indicate a failed sheet feed, check the paper path to see for any stuck bits of paper, however I have heard that this can also be caused by a flaky sensor in the paper path.....

apparently the best way to deal with this is to turn it upside down and give it a shake.

hope this helps

Fax output error

Pretty sure your paper tray button is set to get paper from the bottom paper cassette which is the tray that slides into the bottom of the printer.

If you switch the paper tray selection button* to use the rear feed tray you'll probably find it will print faxes sucessfully or you can put paper in the cassette tray...

*The paper tray selection button is just under (and slightly right of) the "Memory Card" button and has an icon image of the printer with two LED's (top and bottom). These lights indicate which of the trays is currently selected...

Hope that helps.

Paper feed feeds 10 sheets at a time rather than one

It sounds like your seperation pads are worn out. They will need replacing. You will need a service technician to do this.
It will probably be cheaper to buy a new machine.

I run a Mac OSX Leopard My Canon MP830 seems to be having a paper feed problem. I also get the Error 5010. This happened right after using the scanner. It starts to work ok, but then a noisy clicking...

Is the message 5100. Paper jam? This indicates that the printer head carrier is being interferred with. Open the cover and check the slide bar and the paper path to see if there is something obstructing movement. If the drive belt has slipped it needs to be reseated.

Copying and fax sending problem

  1. Just check & clean the dust in the original feeding area.
  2. if not solved, clean the Document feed sensor or replace the same. But for this you need to open the body of the fax machine.
